I currently watch this lot on BBC

The Fall (Excellent serial killer drama set in Belfast with Gillian Andersen still looking mighty fine)
The Missing (second series not with excellent lead role from French Actor)
Sherlock (New series New Years day)

On Sky or others

Walking Dead
Black Mirror
Westworld
American Horror Story
Game of Thrones

So still watching but for me the output now in terms of series is not as good as it has been in past years, remember Summer on TV is always bad with the best series starting in Autumn and then into Winter.

My son works for the BBC World service (which is excellent) and he keeps me up to date with internal affairs. It seems BBC are scared of losing viewers to Sky in particular then BT. they are also concerned about general media coverage such as the Daily Mail who they see as a propaganda machine designed to undermine the BBC.
I must say having read the headlines in the Daily mail i tend to agree.
I think BBC is the best of a bad bunch but it does need to up its game.
My preferences if anyone is interested is Radio 4, World Service, BBC 4 and BBC 2 in that order. I do admit to watching old drama on my Freeview too. I think also we must keep the BBC more or less as it is from a funding perspective

The Missing has been good, but we're struggling with time.
Sherlock, indeed, pretty excellent.
Black Mirror. I had that as C4? Black Mirror / White Christmas is required Christmas Eve viewing for me, along with Denholm Elliot in 'The Signalman' and Die Hard (It's not Christmas until Hans Gruber has fallen from the Nakatomi Plaza!)
Westworld *looks* good, but there's an element of effort involved in getting to it....

Netflix has taken over Black Mirror after Charlie Brooker was told by Channel 4 he would need to get additional foreign finances for a new series if he wanted to stay on Channel 4. He had talks with Netflix and they offered him a much higher budget than C4 could ever hope to compete with. An added bonus is that all 6 episodes were made available on the Friday it came out.

radio 6 Music is worth the licence fee on its own . Quality radio .

Along with BBC Breakfast .... Minimal Z list Celeb stories , no cash making competions for dole scroungers , and no "weather sponsered by Tampax"

If you're over 15 then Radio 1 is nt for you. Or if you find Radio 2 a bit too safe and nicey nicey then radio 6 music is the one.
It's for people who like creadable music and would be interested in tour news , and not hearing the same songs over and over again . And they play album tracks ! Infact entire albums some times ! They played the "New Gold Dream" album by Simple Minds in its entirety a couple of months ago ...fantastic !

Alot of the DJs are on holiday this week but Shaun Keavney s breakfast show is great .
Radcliff and Maconie from 1 pm are excellent . ( Craig Charles is standing in this week . )
as is Steve Lemac .

Iggy Pop does sunday afternoon ...... Could listen to him for hours talking about how he is nt dead ;P

Some music you may not like, or will find a bit strange , but i can gaurantee that you can listen to it all day and not think " oh no , not this song again .

The other week they had Placebo live from the studio at 7.30 in the morning for an hour ! Another time Jonny Marr, Paul McCartney , Paul Weller . Ill have some of that please ;)

Give it a whirl

Yes, the only two i cant stand are Guy Garvy (He is about as entertaining as his music but thankfully only on now and again at the weekend ) and Lauren Lavern can be a bit annoying from 10 in the week . But ill live with that

Books and more books for me, I've turned the tv off over summer and tend to read for a few hours of an evening, not only is it relaxing it really helps with insomnia!

Very brave
I've got 3 kids, don't want anymore - leave the TV on
