To Start..My old school 3200GT.. a genuine 163mph in Germany a couple of months ago and it was still pulling!

The 174mph plus as printed in the hand book is complete nonsense, as I was on flat for over 3 mins..

Anyone else...

You hooligan Ben:thumb3:...I could get the old 3200GT out to 475/520 bhp but it would be useless to drive on the road so there'd be no point..

Old Maserati 3200 engines are perfect around 400bhp!

I have seen 285 kph(177 mph) on the dials once, don't know how accurate it is. Was still pulling but had to brake for a corner.
The previous owner once did 310 kph(192 mph), again, dial indication.

2002 4200 CC, Larini H-pipe, connecting rear pipes and valved backboxes.

I only tried it once, don't really like to drive at those speeds.

What do you do for the 400bhp?
Just a remap?

Nothing Neil all are standard at 400bhp or at least mine is.... Manual will give more power as revs higher but don't hold me to that.

And the fastest I saw on a Private road was in my M5, GPS indicated 176 mph with another gear to go.

All Maserati's were mainly detuned from the factory, so as not to compete with Ferrari..!! A good specialist can easily tune these back up again, or a software specialist can easily up the game..!!

I think all 3200's were bang on 370bhp or over like mine. Some of them have problems with pedal pot and boost valves not allowing full throttle or WOT/Peak boost and others need the timing setting up properly. Whatever my car has had it looks pretty healthy from that power and torque curve graph!!!!

Nice one Phil, very impressive...my old bangers down on power for sure as it would in the end only pull 169mph on a 3 mile straight flat piece of Autobahn..

I suspect the exhaust valve timing is incorrect (from new)as everything else checks out fine

I once did 71 mph, I know because I had a letter from Nottinghamshire police congratulating me on the fact and inviting me to an awards ceremony :)

Rob Giordanelli had a 300bhp Toyota Supra on test with the now defunct Italian Cars magazine 20 or so few year back..

On the way back to Sunbury-on-Thames from the Crooked Billet roundabout..143mph!

Could be but I reckon its worth a trip to the RR and see what it puts out. Funnily enough I remember reading a few years ago some of the Vmax figures for 3200's and they were not far from your achievements. I'll see if I can find the results from all 3200 runs.

Not that fast by comparison to most. 135 in my Renault Alpine on the M3 many, many years ago. Racing a Ford Cosworth thing. I had hair back then and everything.

I've seen just over 160 indicated on the autobahn, not sure how much more it would do as had to back off when a car pulled out on me, it definitely had more to give though
