Another member on here!! Good news and enjoy the car

Did they not do you a deal for your car?

Yes, they offered a deal, but not a very good one. The guy selling the yellow GS thinks he can do better for me, so I am arranging for him to see it. That yellow car is fabulous if you like yellow.

Thanks all for the welcome. I don't think I wasted time with the Boxster. They are fantastic cars, and it has taken this long to find something to replace it. It has also been utterly reliable for nearly 11 years. Here in North Oxfordshire we have lots of good, empty roads. I am not really anticipating problems with the GS, but it has had to have a bit of mechanical and electrical work in the past. I took out a 24 month warranty just in case.

I've had a Boxster S and it was a great car. Mind it convinced me that I don't like mid engined cars.

Congrats Paul, I'm sure you'll love the GS after the Boxster S - speaking as someone who's recently gone from a Boxster a to a GS!

I've had 2 Boxster S and a Cayman, and all were excellent cars, very hard to fault and probably the most balanced and best handling cars I've driven. I was determined to buy a 997 before finding the GS, but once I drove a GS I was smitten. It was just so much more of an event than any Porsche I've driven before.

Since being a small boy I've dreamed of owning a Ferrari, so the Maserati seemed like the next best thing until I could afford an F430 (if that day ever comes). After only a month or so of Maserati ownership I no longer lust after a Ferrari - I think I'd rather have a GTS MC-Shift! The marque seems to do that to you, from what I understand.

Welcome to the Maserati adventure mate. The car looks great and red is quite rare for them. The guy at PK to thank is Phil Kyle who I'm sure is who you will have spoken to. He has my 3200 right now!

I had many Porsches before my flip to Maserati and for the first time in many years, I've stopped looking at them in the classifieds and starting to think about keeping mine, or at least one of them, forever!

You'll find that the brand does that to you!

I think this car used to belong to a member call WGG from Scotland.

I think you could be right Matt.

When I saw the car for sale previously I lusted after it, and this time it's within reach though I have other priorities. Do you think you could delete this thread and remove the temptation?

Not sure it was WGG's car. I remember his being earlier and had silver wheels. More than possible they've been refinished in a darker colour, of course.

Maybe. It was red, black and red piping with red calipers, in Scotland and MP Spercars are in the service book.

When I get this, we will have four cars ranging in age from 4 years to 104 years, and all with completely different ways of changing gear. One traditional 6 speed (my wife's Mini), one flappy paddle, one four-speed non-synchro with a right-hand change and one two-speed epicyclic where you push a pedal for low gear and move a lever to get into high gear. Three of them have a push-button to start them (the other has a handle).
