OK What happened in each of the following years 1880, 1884, 1889, 1930, 1931, 1967, 1975 & Lastly in 2007?

It has happened on previous occasions but these should cover the ages of all on here ;)

Correct on the dates listed in the question the event happened in countries outside of the Britain

I'm currently stumped, but rather think its going to be something quite obvious. The 1311 makes many things suddenly out. I was thinking things like world record athletic events.
Not natural disasters, ecplises or similar.
I was thinking succession of the throne but clearly not. Assassination of monarch? Seems not frequent enough. Similarly renaming of countries

I searched a couple of the years and had an idea what it might be, but then the last year in the sequence would have been 2010, surely?
