Not my style , had a few and still have one or two nice ones , but i never wear a watch , in fact havent worn one for years , Now Enzo is the main man for watches, think he has some absolute beauts tucked away , walked me half way around the watch houses in Geneva , untill we got toooooo close to a real expensive window and the all gthe shutters came down , needless to say we did a sharpish runner hahah

regards loz

ah right, i will see what Enzo makes of it, sounds like the right man for watches and he drives a QP so he is bound to know something about style/sartorial elegance.

I bought a tag carrera in Al kobar to cheer myself up on christmas day last year. it also cost me a ladies omega to cheer her up as well. ( well thats not entirely true , I bought hers to stop her moaning & to take the constant
" thats not fair " look off her face.)

Hi Adam

It all depends on your long term view. Is this to be "the" watch that you will wear for 50 years, a dress watch for special occasions, part of a collection of watches?? Depending on your answer the answer to your question may differ.

I think it is a very nice watch but some may say it is a young man's watch and the red face and bezel may be dated in say 10/20 years time? For the money you could get a classic 40s/50s Rolex, Movado etc that will never date, or go down in value, but then you may not want to wear that every day.

Would a classy Maserati driver wear a red faced watch? Will it clash with your yellow Maser when you get it!? What do forum members think - is it understated enough? Perhaps it is spot on for a young man? (bear in mind I am not remotely on trend so my advice is of limited value on all this modern stuff).

So in answer to your question is a question - is it the sole watch you will have and how long are you planning to keep it?

Cheers

i have a breitling bentley and a cartier santos, love them but would only wear them on special occasions, not really a "look at me, look what im wearing" type of person as around here thats the wrong attention, ill try see if i can get pics up

I also like a Brietling but not the real blingy ones, has to have a leather strap, my favourite tag is the Monaco. My dad has a Cartier, not a massive fan. a little to plain for me.

I bought myself a Rolex Submariner 50th Anniversary edition in 2003 when they were first released as a limited run. It wasn't intended to be an everyday watch, but since I bought it I haven't worn any of my others:

Adam, TAG's are great starter watches, so I support your choice.

You have good taste my friend...look forward to seeing your "first maser" post in a couple years...

Very nice Adam,
Hope you do really well with your exams...
keep the watch (and other nice things) in the back of your mind...
better you do at school the better the chance of getting on later, earning lots of money,
and getting those nice things...doesn't always happen of course, but I think a good education is a great start.
Regards,
Enzo.

A right character is one of the things I have been called...hehehe
I really love Italy, there are so many beutiful places, all over...and have lived in Sicily for a year or so...
but, I really like living in the UK, it's where my immediate family is and that's the most important thing to me.
Regards,
Enzo.
