Good idea on the avatar Dem, will do that. I drove her from London to Aberdeen, mostly on motorways as I didnt have the time to go looking for nice driving roads.

I drove London - Tebay which probably took about 5hrs. Stayed in a lovely 16th century Inn there and then the next day drove another 4-1/2 hrs with a stopover in Stirling to see a client. A memorable trip for sure. Pic below is form Tebay.

Never even owned a 911 Ozzie, was all set to buy one and got distracted by Maserati and that was the end of that. Lusted after a 911 for 20yrs and when I could finally buy one, didn't :)

Old school friend lusted after a 911 for 30 years, at School it was Porsche that, Porsche this etc.
Then this summer he bought a secondhand 997 Carrera 2S...only kept it 6 weeks...and lost 5 grand when he sold it after the 6 weeks!

Gah! I'm half toying with going to view a car thats in Aberdeen but its a trauma to get there! A lift in an MCV would have done though :)

Lovely looking car, much nicer to see it in those surrounds than the busy streets of London.

I'm smitten with mine, Dem. It was a stretch to buy it and I was concerned that I'd regret the decision - no chance! I'll be selling the children before the car goes (they think that's fair... I have a couple of budding petrol-heads). But there's something about the MCV which really grabs me. Maybe it's the slightly lower ride height? Not sure. I'm hoping that Miles will let me have a good look at his up at Rockingham tomorrow.

Mondie, you now know you made the right choice..??

Having never owned a Porsche and only 10 mins total experience in a 911TT so I can only rate the car for what it is, and in a word it's intoxicating. I have been taken by surprise at how raw and involving it is to drive, how low it is and just how much I love staring at it. I doubt I would have said all of that about a 911TT.

Mondie, that is one great looking car. Looks particularly good parked outside a pub.

/A

It does, I should have taken more time to move the car and get some better pics. That was just a quick snapshot as I couldn't wait to fire her up and get on the road that morning.

Would have been nice to have company Woody. What is the car up in our parts? There was a GS for sale here last time I looked

Cheers

Nothing 'special', family car.... but its a rare spec so I may have to travel for it! Only been looking a couple of weeks but of the three I've found, two have been in Scotland! (the other, 134 miles away, wasnt tidy enough when I went to see it)
