Booger, if I'd known you were driving her back I'd have come to meet you for a coffee somewhere on route. You're a bit too far north of me now, but hopefully another time for sure...

It was a bit of a snap decision Miles, even this morning I was trying to get transport arranged. The cost was not worth it and the weather good so I just jumped in her and started driving. Glad I did, it was a fun trip north and I love the pub I am staying in. We have been here a few times before, a great stopover place when heading north. Would have been great to meet up so its a shame it didn't work out.

Mike

The online cost from BCA was around 400+VAT but when they phoned the dealer back this had jumped to 650+VAT, and they reckoned they were going to drive it! He went to another company and they were 550+VAT. Aberdeen was too remote for them obviously.

Anything capable of towing a GS from Wimbledon to Aberdeen is going to use at least £250 of fuel each way and then it needs someone to drive it. £500 would be a great deal as it's around 600 miles. Anyway, sorted now, hope you enjoyed the drive Mondie.

Mondie,
Well done, never mind we will meet up soon somewhere. Seats are an unusual subject, when we decided to go down to Monaco on the Maser meet, we thought the 3200 seats would be cruel on the old posterior, the opposite was the case and they were very comfortable and held you in place. Give the seats a chance and take a few trips first, then see what you think..!!
Cheers

Made it home a couple of hours ago through some terrible road conditions today. The car was perfect and surprisingly reassuring in the wet. She drank 114 litres over 580 miles (23mpg) so not too bad at all I reckon.

What a magnificent car the GS is, I am truly surprised at how raw and intoxicating the driving experience is, I am sure the seats add greatly to that feeling. They are utterly uncompromising and my legs are sore tonight but I wouldn't give them up, they so add to the overall experience. Looking forward to getting out on some windy local roads in the dry and testing the limits soon.

Cheers

Glad you got home safe and sound...My first drive in my latest 4200 was Bristol to Nice, perfect way of getting to know the car.

Brilliant to hear that, Mondie. What a good start to Maserati ownership! I hope to see some photos soon.

Here's a quick snap I took tonight complete with over 500 miles of road grime. I could stand in the drive and look at her all day!

I dream of 23 mpg! I usually reckon on 12-15. Just been out for a reasonably gentle blast and got 12.3. Worth every penny.

BTW Mondie, it looks so much better than a 911 of any type. Nice avatar, but I would have thought 'UP' would be more appropriate!

Funny when I collected mine from the dealer and drove her home up the M1, in the rain, I got 22 mpg.
Never seen 22 again!!!

Beautiful car, Mondie. Mesmerizing. I fully understand why you could spend all day staring at it. I'd be happy to join you in that task!

On my trip of 290 miles to view the 3200 I reset my trip and got 21.9 well pleased for a high speed jolly.

Thanks fella's, she is a beauty. I will clean her over the weekend and see about getting some good photos.

You wont see me today Lee, she is resting up after the drive home. Off to the office soon but feel like I should still be in bed, it was a tiring trip.

Mondie,
She looks stunning and for a black car the roadgrime is not that easy to see. Give her a wash, stroke her lot's of times and enjoy the experience.
Cheers
