Now the 420 SEAC was the one which would kill you I think!

Here are my last two:

Loved that 968 - current owner said he call me if he ever came to sell it.... Nearly 200k on the clock when I sold it.

996 broke down in Italy (water pump - should have got a 993!) - it was never going to last after that...

Si, love the 968...Am tempted to get one of these now you can get a Sport for around 7500.....Just worried they would feel very old...Must drive one and find out...

Enzo,

My mate's 350 also had problems with the pop up headlights. He had to drive it for a week or so with one headlight up and the other at half mast - so it looked like his car was either winking or acting all coy.... Water ingress - all part of owning a soft top. Lots of parts for the car were from Fords / Citrons etc if I recall. However, the Rover v8 was so loud! Awesome cars. I don't think you would be able to sell a car like that anymore due to EU safety regs...... such a shame about TVR!

Yes Si,
That sounds so familiar :D when mine got out of synch, I would have one up and one down...
flick the switch and I woiuld still have one up and one down...heheheh

Wow, what a fantastic thread...made me go off and dig a few pics out on a rainy Saturday.....

Can't find any pics of my earliest snotters unfortunately, but that's probably no loss!

Manta B - Peter Maiden rally 2.2 engine running on twin 45s (RAC rally c.1986 - note S1 RS turbo in front)
Manta.jpg

My MK2 Escort before the full rally car conversion - desperately trying to find the 'after' pics as this looks rubbish!
Escort.jpg

XR2 - not the best car for autotests
XR2.jpg

This was quick for a 20 year old owner - Renault 5 GT Turbo phase 2 (note 80s clothing etc!)
R5 GTT.jpg

Time for some Vauxhalls now - Astra SRi (on hols in France)
Astra.jpg

When 'hot hatch' insurance shot through the roof I swapped to a Nova SR
Nova.jpg

Which didn't last long as it was too slow. Nova GTE, a bit more like it!
Nova2.jpg

What was I thinking? Rover 216 convertible!
Rover.jpg

Very swiftly followed by something German - 318i
BMW.jpg

Big new job, 1 large bonus later - Range Rover LSE
RR1.jpg

Sold a while later to help fund a new house. What was left bought a German executive
Merc.jpg

The Merc left me cold - time for something more exciting, my first Alfa, a 155 wide body (note the new number plate!)
155.jpg

Had to show it again in more salubrious company
155#2.jpg

Followed by a 156 Selespeed
156.jpg

and one of the first 'bug eye' Imprezas in the UK (only pic I can find, not very good!)
Impreza.jpg

That's all the scanned pics. Next post with digital versions.

Another Range Rover. I must be a glutton for punishment!
RR2.jpg

Needed a silly toy to go with it - 4litre TR7 V8
PICT999.jpg

Then I decided to become sensible, sort of. 147 Selespeed
ALFA 3.jpg

Being sensible lasted all of a few months. Now for Maser-time!
PICT0548.jpg

And another helping of E30
PICT1213.jpg

Can't find any pictures of the current rides, must take some, and am missing some other choice turds along the way. Will have a rummage to see if I can find any more gems.

Whilst I was hunting through my car pics I also came across the time which made me decide I'd own a 3200 one day.
Drove this car around a race circuit along with a Diablo, 968, Viper etc. and instantly fell in love. Car is on a private plate. I wonder where it is now, or whether one of our members owns it...

I had considered omitting the Rover, but it was a (brief) part of my car history. It was absolutely gutless and a generally horrible car. It's only saving grace was that it was really cheap through my old company.

As for the Vauxhalls...they were quite good in their day when compared to the equivalent Fords. Wouldn't go back there though, those days are definitely over!
