GC over a California every day of the week. Looks better, sounds better, fast enough for the road and the roof is unproblematic

Cali T’s are a different league - but then they cost at least 25k+ more.
It depends what you mean by ‘tame’- 3.8 0-60.
The Cali 30 sounded great and was a different league IMO to the MC Cabrio I took out with it back to back.
Looks wise - it’s personal opinion
Sound wise- MC wins
Speed and accelerarion - Cali wins
Back seats - MC wins
Depreciation - Cali wins
Let’s face it- people seem to either love or loath Ferrari’s so the final decision is very personal.
If you can stretch to a T they are just on a different planet engine wise, interior and tech wise.

I love how they look but they are so dated inside it really put me off.
Would be interested to hear others experiences?

How about a gallardo? I have never experienced something more brutal than the corsa mode.Mc shift gear change is nothing compared to corsa

I tried to like the Gallardo, and of course lambo just can't make an ugly car, but the gallardo's are (and feel) old tech compared to the huracan, and even to some extent, the low tech strad.

Their price does make them attractive though, and there are some lightweight specials that should maintain values well.

But the 430’s are slow compared to the more modern Fezzas, I’d feel short changed spending £100k on one.

blimey Phil your getting racey - the 430 I drove a couple of weeks ago was manic and the fastest gearbox ive ever used, quicker than a 570s.

Slow compared to things twice the cost. But they’ll still do 60 in under 4 seconds and hit 195mph.

Hardly sluggish.

And it’ll be worth more 2 years after you’ve bought it.

The only downside with the prancing horse is mileage...very sensitive! And those limited edition/special unless is a huge increase in value you'll spend quite some $$$ on maintainance/insurance and always scared to drive them due to mileage.

My 599 went through 12k today. At 10 years old, now worthless! I'll hold onto it for a couple of months, just to stop anybody else suffering the depreciation hit!

The 0-60 makes little difference everyday on UK roads unless you want to race every oik off the lights. And the GC Sport makes a better noise than either the Cali 30 or Cali T imo, let alone the MC Cab.

You didn't seem to hang on to your Cali 30 for very long Ian?

I agreed about the noise in my post above. I agree re: 0-60 is pointless as racing is for a different kind of person on the road, but there is something nice about the occasional ability to really pull off (up to a legal limit!) at a pace faster than an S3 hatchback. I loved the Cali 30, but I had the opportunity to move it on before I went to live in France. I would have kept it if I had stayed.
I personally really like the brand in terms of quality and feel , but I don’t like the perception of the brand and the negativity it brings. As you know I have been finding it hard to decide between 4 options as my next car. I would have tried the vanquish to scratch the itch if it was physically possible to get a child seat in the back. I am looking to buy either a fully loaded Cali T or a 458 this week, but have missed out on 2 458s that sold
Before they had been advertised!
Ferrari have kindly offered me a portofino for Sept as long as it costs £219,000. They actually ‘preferred’ it to be £238,000, complete with carbon cup holder, ceramic back scratcher and Kevlar knee clips. Although my wife couldn’t believe their generosity and human spirit, I politely said I wouldn’t mind waiting until they are available for general consumption....
