I got the exact same email this morning. Robert, if you and me team up, maybe they'll do a deal. Two chairs for ONLY eight grand?

:D

Elliott,
You might have something there, a bulk order could be a money spinner, we could have stock and sit on them for years....!!!!
Peter,
I don't think they had sale or return in mind when they dreamt up this little idea..!!

Bit late to this, sorry guys, I was informed by Dick Lovett of the following:

Safety Recall on the early cars relating to rear tie rod replacement under warranty (from assembly # 12632 up to and including Assembly # 42684). These are not chassis numbers.

The repairs take around 3.5 hours and will include a FREE health check and wheel alignment check

Elliott, ask them if you can take it to a dealer that does all the work inclusive, no point having half a job and any dealer can do it..!!

Elliott,
I would have thought the alignment would be mandatory after fitting those parts..??

Yes, I agree it must be, Robert. It's the health check that would be nice to have.

Yep mine is due for the recall too! 3 week wait.

Given the nature of the recall i would presume they would have to realign the wheels anyway right?

Health check would be great and much needed! I drive mine quite hard and feel a little guilty at times but hey its an amazing machine!!

I think most garages call a health check a"Quick Look Round", they may either charge you, or do it for "free" if it's in for other work. It has been known for dealers to find all sorts of stuff that is not needed, usually when doing a "Health Check"..??

Guys, can I make a suggestion, use the Annual or base search on our site, and choose the Dealer as mentioned above for your free health check. Your repairs are under warranty, so if its a health check you want, use the facility and enquiry form - http://www.servicethecar.com/Get-A-Quote.aspx - it's their offer, so use it if you wish

Received mine back from HR Owen today. Exemplary service: smooth, professional, minimal fuss to me. Nicely washed too.

Thumbs-up :)

Mine is booked in with HR Owen for the 1st of August, the 29/07/13 was the first date they had with a courtesy car, they need the car for 2 days apparently.

Eh?

They told me three to four hours when I made the booking. They picked it up at 12:00 on Wednesday and rang yesterday morning to say it was ready. I don't know whether they worked a full man-day on it but it certainly wasn't 2 days.

They must have done dozens of them by now; maybe their original 'three hours' estimate was too optimistic. I know when I read any car forum posts about DIY suspension work people always curse and moan about how horrendous it is loosening suspension bolts on cars of this age, or even younger.

I think it's just because of the sheer volume of cars they have booked in which has gone through the roof Due to the recall from all accounts - 2 days gives them a buffer to guarantee a turnaround I suspect.

Have to say HR Owen are the best servicing dealer I have ever experienced on any marque - just top notch.
