I really would, but really mustn't

You know you want it Chris. Besides it may take a couple of weeks for Iains new steering wheel to make its way across the pond. Thats two weeks to save up :)

I think i would hold on to it Iain and then you can return your car to standard as and when you sell. You can then sell the CF wheel as a seperate item when the time comes or use it to negotiate the sale price.

Agree mate- i did think about this and you're probably right.
It's painful to part with so much for the carbon wheel though and no core exchange!
Plus there are some other improvements I am planning.
It will be v painful to sell when the time
Comes. I can't imagine anything better for anywhere approaching
The money though.

Yes, I know I want it! And two weeks does not make enough to save up, given I *might* needs new discs and pads all round for the MOT in December. Having said that they were 85% worn in July and it's not like I've exactly done huge miles, so I'm confident I can scrape an MOT and do them after Christmas

Step! Away! From! The! Keyboard!

;)

Seriously I'm booked for geometry on the 17th, then hopefully Josh on the 29th to get my h-pipe and valved boxes. MOT 2nd November, with (I hope vacuum hoses)

Once that's all done, I might consider it! (Assuming of course no one runs into it, can't find paint, forgets to order parts, is OK with things 'slipping', has things break at in-opportune moments, has SD machiens break at in opportune moments, drops bits into important orifices or otherwise tries to sabotage my ownership!)

I thought you swapped it out anyway Iain? What benefits does it offer over the standard GTS wheel?

How do you mean swapped it out?
Its still on the car until the Carbon one arrives.
RE: Benefits - its fatter, better looking and updates the interior. Makes the car feel and look more up to date.
IMHO its the most important mod for a car interior as you are in contact with it the entire time you are in the car and look straight at it constantly.

Your not alone in that chain of thought Iain. I upgraded my standard 4200 wheel to a GS wheel. Moz did the same and catman changed to a CF wheel on the 4200 that wack now owns.

I prefer a chunkier steering wheel and the GS one is much more tactile than the standard 4200 wheel.

I recently changed my wheel and would 100% agree, makes a big difference to the look and feel which is probably why Maserati upgraded to this one, gutted it wasn't available when I got mine, great bargain for someone as I'm sure this would fly on eBay

Now is a good time to make an offer for the facelift wheel as I am in a great mood- after chasing with FED Ex when the delivery was expected.... I found out my wife had signed for it this morning and not told me about it... grrr...not that I had been waiting for it or anything.

Pretty good delivery time from USA - 3 days total.IMG_7685.jpgIMG_7682.jpgIMG_7684.jpg

Never seen a wheel like it before. Cant fault the workmanship - amazing carbon fibre / alcantara and contrast stitching. Cant wait to get it fitted.

Worked out around £1700. Couldn't find anywhere in the UK to put carbon on mine.
Its a work of art and feels amazing.

To be honest I will be sad to swap off the facelift one too as its so chunky and such a step up on the old one.

Postage - $89
Custom Charge - $0 as they put a nominal value on a 'used wheel'

Can't wait to put it on.
Next step facelift front bumper and carbon diffuser.

You dropped lucky with the customs charges. It should be around 2.5% duty plus 20% vat on the value of the goods plus the shipping charge. So that has saved you around £390.

Mine cost me an extra £170 in duty and vat charges when i brought mine in from the USA last year.

Tempted to get mine refurbed by Royal with Alcantara and made chunkier. I'd rather spend on proper mods first though so will have to wait for now.

I did 'hint' to put a low figure and an inventive description for customs purposes . It was all true though. Just interpretation.

It would look great going down that route, but wouldn't look like a true facelift wheel and would cost the same or more.

How is improving the Steering wheel not a proper mod? Could you give us an insight into the Improper and Proper Mod Scale?
