Good luck with the Lotus, I'm sure it will be lovely, and that smell of a new car is wonderful!

Maserati have been disappointing since I bought my 4200 nearly 10 years ago.
Back then the GT was still relatively new and apart from the more mass produced QP, Ghibli, Levante, no more affordable sports Coupes.
The GT is too big/long for me and therefore why I've keep my 4200 for so long.
When I don't drive it over winter, and through covid, I often think I should sell. However after turning that key and a few miles, all those thoughts disappear.
I think I could only sell after being laid up over winter, and someone collecting it without me having to start it/drive it again!

My Dad had one of those as a youngster…..He painted two white hands in the back due to the amount of time someone had to push it. He told the children in the village when they asked what the hands marks were that it was a ghost pushing it….This was back in the 50’s I believe..

Fair play Phil and you have certainly had a few Tridents.
Loving your Classics as that's where my love is these days.
Miss not having a Italian V8 though and thoroughly enjoyed traveling in Martin's GT at Le Mans and a blast in Matt's Stradale too.
Adams Aston Martin was special too.
One life live it.

Now just a slight chop and a small block V8 and you'd have a nice sleeper there Phil!
15 Masers in 9 years is good going. I'm still on 1 after 7!

He's a glutton for punishment, that's for sure!

Phil, well done on shifting the GTS. I think you've been looking at moving that on for a while. Regardless of what Maserati has in the showrooms now, I'm surprised you've not been tempted with a Strad or a late-model GTS. Martin's GT Sport is a lovely thing and ridiculous value.

Regarding the original post it makes complete sense. Once you’ve lost the love what’s the point of owning any expensive to run performance car? Good luck with the Lotus, looks to be a great car at a great price and will be in demand for many years as that sort of car becomes harder to find new.

Wow, I didn't realise you'd had so many Masers. Did you change them every 6 months?
I'm pretty sure replied on one of my first posts 6 years ago, and thought you were in a GT then. I know you were selling in 2018, as I was considering it myself.

Hopefully, when we see the final appearance of the new GT and it definitely comes with a decent ICE you maybe tempted back.

In the mean time, I can't think of many other cars that are a more attractive proposition than the lotus right now!

The time to buy tridents isn't brand new.....

Quite understand that. I've had an ex-demo and looked at new, then pre-reg, but the numbers defeated my man-maths and I bought the F-car. The same thing really, nothing in a Trident I was tempted by and could afford.

Good luck with the Lotus. It does look lovely.

I'd say I'd be up for a Llandow trip, but after the cost of the last one I did I'm not so sure.

Congratulations on selling, hopefully you sold high.
I hope this isn't Au Revoir but more till the next time. We've had some good times and some greater times (well Su and Ira at brooklands)

Good luck with the wait for the Emira.
