Got it !

Ren, double and triple check the front discs for vibration before accepting. They do warp and its not until you go above motorway speeds that you notice it. This might have been the balancing issue they were trying to rectify.

Front discs and pads are very expensive. On the GTS they are £700 for front pads, and £1500 for the front discs, plus VAT and fitting of course.

Sorry Ren, what Maserati have you purchased?

I've got it I've got it !!! One very very happy camper, did over 300 miles today and enjoyed every single second. Checked the brakes and nothing seems out of place - no vibrations at all from the front end whilst driving or braking.
Only one "issue" is that the passenger seat doesn't slide forward when I tilt it forward to let a passenger in. It just goes forward a few inches and then immediately back. I've tried the reset procedure (quickly) but nothing has changed. I guess that's the job for the weekend :)
Cortese were very helpful this morning and apologetic for the hassle etc. even showed me round the 599 GTO ............ a beauty.

I'll post pics etc. this weekend - off to Cardiff tomorrow ............... international travel already and only had her a day !

Well done Dicky!!
Frank, we need someone to get the measurements of a disc in question, then ask Brembo if they can meet the sizes, hey presto!!

They all do the seat thing......just have time the jump out perfectly....;)

P

Funnily enough mine does the opposite. Moves forward when you tilt, but then doesn't run back to the previous position! Odd.

Car is in to Graypaul next week primarily for new boots all round, but they are also going to slightly alter the caster to try to weight up the steering a little and to hopefully, fix the blasted handsfree which quite frankly is as much good as tits on a bull! Will get them to look at seat at the same time.

Glad to hear you are enjoying the car Ren, I adore mine.

Isn't that something to do with the length of travel. It has to travel the full distance forward so that the switch knows to send it back, I think I read that somewhere.

Might be, but even when the seat stops in what appears to be the fully forward position, it doesn't come back

Mine does that too, I might try the Coupe reset:

http://www.giallo.co.uk/faq/88-maserati-4200-seat-programming.html

Maserati 4200 Seat Programming

The seat function should run forwards when the rear back support is tilted. It is very common for this function to stop working, however following the procedure below should reinstate this seat function.

  1. Open the drivers window and exit the car and closing the door, keep your key in the ignition.
  2. This procedure is not a race so apply each step at a relatively sensible pace.
  3. Switch on the ignition for approximately one second then off again (DO NOT START THE ENGINE).
  4. Open the driver's (or passenger's door if passenger seat) and push the seat control button forwards, then backwards, then forwards then backwards. Each step should be a firm hold not a quick flick.
  5. Then tilt the seat back forwards.
  6. What should happen is the seat should go all the way forwards and then all the way, this should happen twice before the seat returns to its original position.
  7. There should be a beep from the seat control ecu to confirm programming has happened.
