I totally agree with what Drewf has just stated ! However I had a great day and thank all for organising it . I have been involved with motor sport for the last 20 years but have never taken any passengers round a track . I was apprehensive at first but the smiles and thanks I got from the passengers soon negated my fears! I was really amazed how my Gransport performed , I did 47 laps with no problems , no brake fade ,no noticeable paint work damage ( I had no traktape on the car ) I claim the prize for the largest lady passenger , I put the seat back as far as it would go but still had problems getting the seatbelt to reach ! But bless her she was extremely grateful . Again thanks for a fantastic day and it was good to meet all of you !

On which note, a huge thanks to MAF for sorting out the Tracktape. It was great to peel off all the flies and assorted **** this morning. The track was cleaner than I've ever known it (well done for that) but the reassurance of being wrapped up was great.

It was me who 'loaded' her, I thought that she was 'fully in' before I closed the door but I got some 'resistance'!

I bet your top speed was lower down the main straight.

I had one passenger inform me they had removed almost 6 ton of grit off the track last week, which is a bit alarming !

Just got back - what a selection of fantastic cars! Many thanks to the owner of the gorgeous and 'slightly more than epic' dark blue QPV 'E4 ADG' who took me for a very rapid spin on the track this morning, we had a very short conversation but I picked up enough to know that I really do want (need) one of these machines in my life. Likewise many thanks to the owner of the other QPV (Drew..?) who gave me some great advice and encouragement.

Just about to fettle the photos I took of all the Masers, will start loading them up later ;o)

Never thought of my car as 'slightly more than epic' but thanks for the thumbs up, hope you join the club soon, if your local ( Birmingham ) happy to help with info and hints if you need.

It was a lot better this year as long as you stayed around the centre line. I saw a few other cars kicking up quite a bit of dirt out of that area. Having said that there was still a fair amount stuck to the track tape. I also made sure I stayed out of other people's wakes except when the clot in the GTR over took and pulled right in front of me.

Well, that was quite a day! I thoroughly enjoyed seeing most of you again. A huge thanks to all those whose organisation behind the scenes makes for a slick operation at our gate. AndyK for getting us involved in the first place - this event is non-moveable in my diary every year; Drew and Susie for providing drinks and snacks etc and for running the gate with great efficiency. My son was helping at the gate and remarked on how well Susie handled the punter who told her to f-off because he couldn't get a ride in the car of his choice!!! A massive thanks to Mr Beans and Mr Crud for coming out to my stranded position on track to see if I was OK (as well as the texts and calls from others) and Adrian for escorting me off the track behind a Land Rover. Further thanks to Frank for driving me to Leicester where we got caught up in the carnival and loads of blocked roads so I could collect my hire car.
The 'biggest effort to get to Brunty' award must go to Adrian who flew in from his holiday in Spain to be there. He drove his M4 most of the way to Brunty from home before realising he'd left his necessary paperwork in the dining room. He returned and started driving back, stopping to get some petrol. Unfortunately he got a little impatient and managed to smack the front of the car into a lump of concrete, rendering the car undriveable:

A low-loader back home again, he dumped the BMW and luckily had a back-up Aston Martin N430 he could use, eventually arriving at the hotel at half a past midnight.

I'm gutted my car didn't make it past the morning session, but glad it went out in style being hammered round a track for pleasure and charity. I still managed to get a lot of laps in from almost 3 hours of driving. An entire family went out in my car individually, one of them coming back for a second ride. I felt really bad about the lad who was with me when my clutch expired. He'd tried to get a ride in my car for 2 years, queueing up especially for it. If he's there next year I'll make sure he gets a full lap next time! My car still managed to win the sound off when broken, being tested just before the recovery truck came. I was amazed to see the reading - 128.8db. No track days for me, then!

It was sad to see a couple of other broken cars, but at least I was in good company:

I felt sorry for the Morgan owner who was leaving the circuit to go home after his laps. Not sure what happened, but it involved a load of oil, a wing coming off and a mangled exhaust...

Sign me up for next year please!

Feel for you mark, but top marks for handling it all so well and you know you are safe from any ribbing from me over this given my brunty history....ahem, nuff said ;)
Want to get a trailer for next year so old marci can come down again.....and so I'm certain to get her home again ;)

A manual car would possibly have been a problem. Flappy paddles win in that situation then.

Second that , he was a complete kn** try to go around the outside of me going into the breaking zone in to turn two they was barely a cars width cut across me than almost went up the back of the yellow BMW I was following ,very stupid ,he had no track etiquette .
