Just got back - what a selection of fantastic cars! Many thanks to the owner of the gorgeous and 'slightly more than epic' dark blue QPV 'E4 ADG' who took me for a very rapid spin on the track this morning, we had a very short conversation but I picked up enough to know that I really do want (need) one of these machines in my life. Likewise many thanks to the owner of the other QPV (Drew..?) who gave me some great advice and encouragement.
Yep, that was me. Great to talk to you, and hope to see you buying a QP soon!
Now THAT was the dog's cobblers. A bloody good day indeed. It was great to see everyone for a day of tyre-shredding fun and frolics. Managed to get home by 6 and with an average mpg of 12.1 since I reset it late this morning.
8.5 mpg, including the drive to/from home!
So rev off was interesting , MAF took Gold and as Adam Crud had gone I took Silver ! There was only half a dB difference between out cars so he is Silver and I am Bronze!
Great day and was surprised by the GTS for an 1800kg+ car on the track. Once MSP was off it was so much more sorted and the Pirellis held up really well. Types are blistered but they will last a few more K. New discs next week so got a lot out of the current ones.
Happy finish to the day - glad the trophies went down well
My track tyres are well and truly finished this year, so will need to sort another set. The MSP is playing up on my car too, and has been for ages on right hand bends. Brunty being a clockwise circuit this is a bit of a snag... Without the MSP it's a different animal.
Great meal with 10 of us to complete the day - superb food and cracking company. Really does finish the day nicely
Thanks to all who helped man the gate - it's a heck of a task, and the young people who helped Susie did a fantastic job. Hats off to them!
So, all I need to do tomorrow is swap the rims back to the normal set with nice new tyres on them, clean the windscreen, put some fuel in, and then I'm off driving to Geneva. What a car - ragged on the track, AndyK gave it some pain too, and hasn't missed a beat since it tried to stay at home this morning with no instruments, infact nothing on the dashboard at all. 25 minutes to fix it, and the rest of the day has been perfect.
