I was told Arnold Clark are offering £1000 over list on them at the moment , I had my name on what was looking to be a long waiting list

Rang a dealer in Scotland who was advertising one as in stock but it was BS, just generating leads

I was expecting the same from this one so was surprised when they rang back and it was still available , the dealers must have their own waiting lists , nobody was waiting for a base car so that's why it went on AT that morning.

Never saw one of these in the flesh until Sunday, they saw another (or the same one again perhaps) on Wednesday. Good looking little car, but on the petrol station forecourt it made my Cooper S look like a giant!

Daily, but have found myself opting for it often when going for weekend drives too because of how fun and capable it is, so much so I’m selling my air cooled 911 because this does everything that does much better, and between this and the GT, the 911 is now redundant and a bit **** in comparison. Red ones are definitely the best, but I am biased!

Big day Wednesday , all the documents signed

Mine was list price from a main dealer but some are trying it on, I'm sure it was £39,995 this morning , only 7K over list, and it's already registered

Hardly any of it is a normal Yaris though , it's not like they've dragged a Yaris off the production line and stuck a 257bhp engine in it.

Though I agree 40k is crazy , especially at a main dealer

Picked it up this morning , a bit of stress being 80 miles from home with 38 miles range but after visiting 3 closed stations Asda had some and no queue

Initial impressions are good , it goes where you point it , very fast and with total confidence

I don't think I'd want the circuit pack , this is more than enough for me , I certainly wouldn't want stiffer suspension

On the A50 I saw blue lights in the distance , an unmarked police car came past , a grey Dacia Duster , that's just not playing fair

I drove it home on toyota's free 3 day insurance which was useful , got a quote from the meerkats this morning , the software pre-fills the insurance valuation out , £2600 over list

The sales manger came out , his first question, how long have you been waiting

er, since last Thursday

I don't think he knew they had it or they'd probably have done what the other main dealers have done , register it as a demonstrator put a few hundred miles on it then bung a 5k premium on as a used car, they're not allowed to charge over list on new cars but they can charge want they want on used cars

Generally though, not many want the non circuit pack car, or I'm sure they would have offered it to the next one in line on the waiting list, or registered it as a demonstrator/cashed-in etc.

Even when I first started looking at them I ruled the circuit pack car out, most of them will never see a track , you don't need LSDs and track suspension on a road car , this is stiff enough.

motorpoint have the exact same car as mine up at 35k , they might sell it , they might lose money on it , who knows
