Even in my day it was Theory > CBT > 12hp 125 cc > DAS > full bore. I think it's even more complex now

Same setup as a FS-1e just had fewer teeth on the front sprocket, easy enough to resolve but meant it couldn't pull a wheelie!

Couldn't do much with the headlight though :(
I had a mate who though he was a master tuner, ported his coffin tank RD200, it was faster

Did his mates, older version with the round tank, definitely not faster, wouldn't go over 40mph and smoked worse that a KH500

My FS1E was replaced with an RD200 to which I fitted Micron expansion chambers. Like early turbo cars the step in the power curve made it feel so much faster than it really was! I miss 2 stroke bikes!

I think that was the Veloce model. I think now the FS1E is the one that everyone wants over the Italian options. After I wrote that off, as I was only 4 months into my 16th year I bought a Fantic Chopper off a pub landlord for £150, front wheel arrives at the pub 5 minutes before the rest of the bike. lol Stilll got my Gitane handbook with the Veloce on the front.

Your new car looks great.
This is like the one I wanted;

Back to cars, ADO71 Austin Princess and its Ambassador successor must be up there with the worst ever. Dad had an early 1700 as a company car and first family trip out everyone was car sick which non of us had ever been before, continued to happen on most trips so it was exchanged for yet another Cortina.

That’s with early rounded case Minarelli engine, my Fantic Chopper had the square case Minaralli engine with the same head, my Gitane Champion had the square case Minaralli engine with the later Compact head. ANorak
Bet the new car is sounding good Guy.

Worst I've driven was the Suzuki SJ410 I rented for $10 a day in Thailand. It drove as if the steering had been replaced by a system of ropes and pulleys. Had a looseness in the steering that meant a 45 degree turn of the wheel was required before any direction change occurred.

Worst been in? Tightly fought.... mates' Reliant Kitten... Mum's Triumph Herald (which was quite charming but you could see the road through holes in the floor)... Grandads Talbot Solara... Mates MG Metro.... Mates Lancia Delta (caught fire & burned out side of road on way home from buying it & before he'd insured it).... My own & mates £400 Sierra Auto Estate (50% share each in that one) mates dad's Hillman Hunter.... mates brush painted mk3 cortina.... 2 girlfriends' metros...

But far as I'm concerned it's yet to come as I've never been in a Qashqai

Which raises the question, which cars will you never be seen dead in (or alive, if you prefer)

Any Nissan Joke (fugly, pointless yet bland), Toyota CH-R (most complicated back end), that SUV Ford thing that identifies as a Mustang (blasphemy!)

That would be the Ford Ranger. For me, the ultimate D-Heads' car*

* special note here for our yank friends only. You are allowed to drive one of these without falling into that category.

But if you're from Wakefield, and mostly, you lend it to your ridiculous lip-filled 45 year old wife to park across 2 spaces in Aldi, (standard UK use for these horrible wastes of the world's resources) then that is indeed NOT allowed. (IMHO)

I don’t know what’s happening in other parts of the world but we are having to deal with an invasion of Chinese **** - Cherry, GWM, Geely, Haval etc. Then also Mahindra and Tata from India - they are starting to look half decent but I still wouldn’t be seen in one of them - safety wise as well

I am a field service engineer and I use a company Skoda Octavia estate company car . This gets serviced at my local VW dealer , one day as a courtesy car I was given a 3 cylinder VW Up! With a Cvt gearbox . I cover in excess of 200 miles a day , and the hilarity and novelty soon wore off . God it was dreadful , never felt so vulnerable on the M5 .
I now avail myself of their collect and return service and book it in on a day off .
Recently spent 10 weeks in a new Vauxhall Corsa as a vehicle supplied by my employers accident management service when poor old Skoda was hit whilst parked .
1.2 3 cylinder engine again , but came with a proper gearbox. Covered 8000+ miles in it and that was also a hideous experience.
On an individual car to car comparison , the VW just wins by virtue of the comedy gear box .
On a different plane , I am getting seriously drawn towards a 355 , just realised after all these years that is only 3" wider than the gransport , so if I am careful and line the wall with sponge foam , it should fit .
Been to see 1 so far . Nice body/paint , but a bit shabby inside . So I walked , didn't even drive it .
