I had a mate who though he was a master tuner, ported his coffin tank RD200, it was fasterSame setup as a FS-1e just had fewer teeth on the front sprocket, easy enough to resolve but meant it couldn't pull a wheelie!
Couldn't do much with the headlight though
My FS1E was replaced with an RD200 to which I fitted Micron expansion chambers. Like early turbo cars the step in the power curve made it feel so much faster than it really was! I miss 2 stroke bikes!I had a mate who though he was a master tuner, ported his coffin tank RD200, it was faster
Did his mates, older version with the round tank, definitely not faster, wouldn't go over 40mph and smoked worse that a KH500
This is like the one I wanted;I think that was the Veloce model. I think now the FS1E is the one that everyone wants over the Italian options. After I wrote that off, as I was only 4 months into my 16th year I bought a Fantic Chopper off a pub landlord for £150, front wheel arrives at the pub 5 minutes before the rest of the bike. lol Stilll got my Gitane handbook with the Veloce on the front.
Your new car looks great.
Head down , arrse up in the air and 30mph lol mmmmmmeeeeeaaaaaaaThis is like the one I wanted;

That’s with early rounded case Minarelli engine, my Fantic Chopper had the square case Minaralli engine with the same head, my Gitane Champion had the square case Minaralli engine with the later Compact head. ANorakThis is like the one I wanted;

Which raises the question, which cars will you never be seen dead in (or alive, if you prefer)Worst I've driven was the Suzuki SJ410 I rented for $10 a day in Thailand. It drove as if the steering had been replaced by a system of ropes and pulleys. Had a looseness in the steering that meant a 45 degree turn of the wheel was required before any direction change occurred.
Worst been in? Tightly fought.... mates' Reliant Kitten... Mum's Triumph Herald (which was quite charming but you could see the road through holes in the floor)... Grandads Talbot Solara... Mates MG Metro.... Mates Lancia Delta (caught fire & burned out side of road on way home from buying it & before he'd insured it).... My own & mates £400 Sierra Auto Estate (50% share each in that one) mates dad's Hillman Hunter.... mates brush painted mk3 cortina.... 2 girlfriends' metros...
But far as I'm concerned it's yet to come as I've never been in a Qashqai

Any Nissan Joke (fugly, pointless yet bland), Toyota CH-R (most complicated back end), that SUV Ford thing that identifies as a Mustang (blasphemy!)
Ooh Good Call, yep me too...Same goes for Kia or Hyundai SUV...choose lifeSsangyong
Or how about one of these. I give you the Dacia Jogger. A friend called from the motorway this morning to ask if I knew something uglier!!Ooh Good Call, yep me too...Same goes for Kia or Hyundai SUV...choose life
If only the J was a D then you would get the point of it being an estate...Or how about one of these. I give you the Dacia Jogger. A friend called from the motorway this morning to ask if I knew something uglier!!
