Wiper broken!

Evening gents

Last week the drivers side wiper stopped working - just as it was raining! I popped it to a friendly indie who popped the link arm back on. It looked like it had simply slipped off.

This week the same fault happened again. So I know I need to replace the link arm (not sure what the part is actually called!)

The indie was going to try and track the part down - any advice? What's the part I need and where can he get it from? He mentioned Euro Parts (I think)

Cheers

Thank you for this. Apparently its only the wiper linkage thats broken - which part do I need to get mate? Hard to tell from the diagram. Anyone else had this happen on here?

I think from memory the wiper unit is the same as in the Alfa GTV, but that might have been just the wiper motor part.

For a used one, David Askew will be your best bet.

For something like a linkage (as the motor is fine) should I just stick with a new one??

I've called Eurospares and I need to purchase a complete motor with the linkage arm attached. The bad news is it costs £220 + VAT new. The good news is that Eurospares are breaking a car and I've picked it up for £100 + VAT. Although I only need the arm you have to purchase the whole unit (as shown in the link P very kindly sent last night).

Dan at Eurospares was very helpful for future reference.

There is a very small plastic clip that seems to hold all the linkage together, my wiper kept failing on my 3200, its probably very similar on a 4200. It would only happen when it rained of course.
It was a really easy fix from memory, with a piece of wire.
Take off the plastic scuttle and all is revealed - although not related to this thread there are some photos which show the offending part on a pollen filter replacement how to I took this picture from it

I now have this fault - drivers side wiper pointing straight up the screen.
Will pop it back on when I have some daylight. Maybe fudge it with wire or cabel ties

The actuator arms have a plastic bush which is a push-fit over a ball joint at the motor end. The bushes wear out and arms fall off when gravity takes over
Bought kit from ebay for £20 which contains just the arms, I have done this fix to both Fiat Puntos at home.

Maybe we could get in touch with seller to make up Maserati arms? Anyone got the old wiper mechanism?
