Emblem in Poole would be my recommendation, they have the gear and the knowhow plus all the shims and tools. As for London, Rob at Grimaldi I think has the Hunter system now, not South/South West but not too far away.

Other than that its Main Dealer, there is one by Ace Cafe that Dem and Urby use.

Marcus,

I have used Christchurch Tyres (recommended by Emblem) for four wheel alignment on my QP. The company used Hunter equipment to carry out a full check including castor / camber / toe in etc. They placed weights in the footwells and went through a rigorous process. It took about an hour and a half and cost £70.

Wheels in Motion in Chesham, Bucks is my recommendation. They have a Hunter machine, mainly work with exotica and did a fantastic job on my GT - felt like a different car afterwards. IIRC it cost £65 all in.

That is a bargain Paul.

Hi Matt,

I dug out the receipt and the total was £72.00. The work was completed by Christchurch Tyres Tel. 01202 475 206 in May of this year..... (To opt for a standard two wheel alignment or other cheap arrangement is in my view a waste of time and money.)

Just one last point on this. When attending a workshop for wheel alignment, all levels including the petrol tank should be full. Excess luggage also needs be removed. (Best to consult the owners manual for each model to confirm) In this way the most accurate results will be achieved.

what's the difference between wheel alignment and geo set up, I have been into greypaul birmingham this morning and they quoted me £479 plus vat for a full geo set up on their laser machine told me it takes 4-5 hours!

Andrew,

This is an involved subject and I do not pretend to be an expert. That said, wheel alignment or tracking is a generic expression used by many garages to describe at least one aspect of steering geometry. Steering geometry covers the full range of angles eg castor, camber, toe in etc. A person taking their car to their local tyre fitters will likely have their tracking done at the same time as buying tyres. The fitters will attach equipment (sometimes laser) to check that the front wheels are in line with the rears. A simple adjustment is then made to the track rods to achieve this. They will not normally check anything else. Clearly this is not sufficient for Maserati purposes. I would recommend speaking to a Hunter equipped garage such as Christchurch Tyres. Ask them precisely what work will be undertaken and if this fully meets your requirements and then ask Grey Paul the same questions. First this may help you to decide what is necessary and second what is cost effective.

Regards,

Paul
