a) what is it

b) do i need to leave them on my keys?

NavTrak. If your car is enabled you need to carry this in the car.

If you dont have it enabled, its now a worthless piece of Chinese produced plastic.

I believe Vodafone now manage NavTrak or the system that supersedes it.

I'm unaware of any tracking contract. I shall leave it at home and see what happens lol

Indeed. The worst that would happen is you would get a phone call if the contact is still active but that would probably be to the previous owner anyway who would inform Vodafone of this.

I’ve got one of these for the GS, yes the previous companies wre purchase by Vodafone. After weeks of chasing Vodafone they eventually managed to find the serial number of mine on their database. However they told me that due to age they would not be able to get a signal!

Their only only option to me was to remove the old kit and install a nice brand new Vodafone branded box at a one time cost of £1000.00 and the yearly fee of £300.00.

I have to have this as part of my insurance even though it’s in a locked garage so I’m investigating a different insurance company that does not deem this mandatory and/or an alternative supplier for the tracker.

Move to another insurer. Preferably a specialist one such as Locktons or the new sponsors AIB or anyone in the ads in Modern Classics magazine. Generally the values would need to be much higher to ask for a mandatory Tracker on the car. Amazing how some insurers tell you they don't want your business.

I'm insured on a multi-car policy through AIB/Hiscox and the tracker was mandatory on the Strad.

Ok I get this on the Strad, but as the GS is older was surprised, guess its how they asses the risk.

I've a multicar policy with Admiral and they didn't require a tracker for the GT
