Just to confirm when I liked your last post it wasn't because Mrs C wasn't well but because wine was all yours.

I think I got that, Andy, but thanks mate!

Not aimed at anyone , it's very nice beer ftom the polish shop , the only place I've seen it in bottles not cans

Innit. I like lots of 'Eastern' European beers. I used to like Zagorka in Bulgaria. Nice dry lager without too much hopping

This French wine is on offer in Tesco at £6.50 and must say rather tasty. Has a crisp refreshing taste. They also do a Rose which I think I'll give a go. Love finding wines that aren't expensive but great tasting....

I‘m a fan of Vieille Ferme - they also do a very nice soft, easy drinking red...

Agree, it's a very good value wine this one and ever so tasty. Suprised me as we don't drink many French white but this may change that.

This is my first tipple this evening... I wasn’t sure that Whispering Angel could be bettered, but it can...

Jon - if you like Whispering Angel, you might want to chat to Dan at No8 WineShop in Tarrant Hinton. Tell him you know me and want to hear the story about how WA miraculously always seem to able to produce enough wine to meet demand, even when every other decent Provençal rose producer runs out...

This summer I’ve been quite enjoying the Notorious Pink. Silly name, but good flavour, sufficiently light on alcohol to be satisfyingly quaffable all afternoon on a hot day, and cheaper than WA.

Chateau Afrique (from Dan, above) is also good.

Have you seen the new (well, 1964) whisky just launched by Aston Martin? There are only 27 bottles available. Price? £50,000 per bottle!!!

Our evening was starting off with a Hobgoblin beer and a bbq. Now it’s persisting down. I’m all right there is plenty of beer in the house fridge. The wife’s pink gin however is on the wall in the garden room/ bar/ den thing. It’s ok. I’ve found a brolly for her.
