Unfortunately Italy does not make any notable Liqueurs unlike France with their Benedictine and Cointreau etc. IMHO.

I once got very merry on Veccchia Romagna, but boy did i suffer the next day!
 Disaronno ( a favourite of some on here I do believe), Limoncello, Frangelico, Luxardo Maraschino to name but a few. Surely one must hold it's own against Cointreau? lol

All the Italian liqueurs are pleasant enough even Allans Stregga i just feel if there was a ranking list of Liqueurs the French and even some Scottish Liqueurs such as Drambuie would beat them

However this is only in my opinion and i am sure people will differ as to what they like.

This. I have not been a fan of most English sparkling wine as, although it was good, it just didn't present good *value*. I am changing my mind. First with a Charmat from the Flint vineyard in Norfolk and now, this Charmat made just up the road in Bishop's Stortford. For £15 it's perfectly good value and a very pleasing drink. Vacuum valve for scale ;)

Mrs Bebs has decided to cook a splendid dinner just the two of us, having had staying guests for the past 3 weekends.
I dived into the wine room immediately and pulled out a btl of Cuvee des Darons, 100% Malbec, aged for two years in new oak cask.
Followed by Chateau Lanessan 2003, which we served at our wedding in 2011.
But before that, half a btl of Chateau Coutet 2017 Sauternes.
Stunning wine it is too.

Pretty sure I've had some of that, or one of their others, somewhere. My memory says it's rather lovely!

Enquiring minds want to know what Mrs Bebs is making?
