There was a show on Absolute 80s several many months back were it was all 80s massive hit covers and their originals. I keep meaning to go through it and make an album.

A lot of the early 80s bands had versions of Northern Soul classics and it might have been Wigan Casino all nighters that brought these into the wider audience and made producers aware of some hidden unknown gems

With Mrs Z being a way it's a good time to trawl through the vinyl collection this weekend has been Billy Joel for some reason. Before listening I would have put Piano Man down as my favourite, probably as I love the title track, but The Stranger has come out on top so far. I also remember that Streetlife Serenade was not great but the artwork on the cover was what made it.
