What have you done to your Maserati today?

Arranged for them both to have a spa day whilst they are in storage.
Where are you taking them. I've booked a half day 'cleaning' course for me and MrRR - we always argue on how best to dry a car and he's reluctant to use the two bucket system :as005:

Came back down to Essex early afternoon yesterday for a gathering of freinds.

Pretty empty roads for a change!
Sat nav said 2hrs6mins when I left...... Managed to do it in 1hr 45.

Can't beat doing the sat nav challenge on clear roads in a car like ours.
Just perfect for long fast journeys.
Even on boring motorways, leaving the window cracked sightly to get full effect of the exhaust noise bouncing back off the central barriers......love it.

Can't wait for the drive home shortly. :)

@joered I ordered the Alfa 166 part from Nissens.

I’m sure if it’s an Alfa166 core, it’s likely from the same factory.

Unbelievable that the Brassworks core failed - they have had an impeccable reputation.

On the plus side, may well be setting a land speed record for Maserati heater core replacement.

happy / terrified that 166 [parts fit maserati. Aware of door mirror for QP + rear view mirror.

FWIW the 166 used ecu often killed by heater matrix leaks, to the extent that common practice was installing plastic drop cover to protect the ( unobtainable ) ECU. Maybe these re-manufactured parts are improved.
Still love the 166

I have had the Strad for 3 years now but apart from a quick wipe down of the engine cover, I have never given under the bonnet any attention.

So today I removed the covers, popped the fastenings in vinegar and will leave them to soak for a few days before a blast of satin black to smarten them up.

Then I gave the engine bay a bit of a clean and repainted the silly water collecting dish on the expansion tank.

Next weekend I will put it all back together for another 3 years.

Edit: got a bit impatient so cleaned and prepped the fixings and finished the job - she is looking very smart under the hood.

I also checked oil water etc (the only thing that really matters !

Weather was good today so got the roof lining in. It fought back well with a monumental amount of faffery with the passenger sunvisor screws & nuts and though when I started the visor courtesy lights were working, now they're not. Checked the wiring I could get to & the visor (seems no power from the car plug), don't think I can face getting it all out again for a more thorough look.

After then it occured to me that I haven't found any money in this car so I went on the hunt pulling some more of the interior out. And I still haven't found any; but I did find a cut off Motorola device lurking in a rear deck speaker hump and a dodgy looking bent wire coat hanger under the back seat...
Fixed a broken rear air vent but I need a replacement outer front one as that is beyond help. Then found the boot lock and fuel flap release buttons stick in causing all sorts of solenoid weirdness; guess the thing's been sat a while. A dose of switch cleaner required there & that's not something I have so pulled them back out to calm things down, put it all back together, locked up & knocked it on the head for the day.
I have new Alan-cantara roof lining for my 3200. Not even in the top ten jobs to perform, but good to know it can be done. Just one seat out or both?

Wind one out and check but I'm gonna *guess* about an M5
Then I would be going back to the tool kit 6 times....
I don’t anything of a known size to check against but as your say, will need to pull one out and head to the local supplier of such things.

Abc who operate from the same development where the cars are stored.
