What have you done to your Maserati today?

Giving serious thought to a matching green QPV 4.7 coming up for auction soon…

Torn between the Maser and the Range
Depends whether you need to fit anything in the boot or not.
Obviously the QPV will be far more expensive to run. But we all know such a pettiness shouldn’t even enter the head of a Maserati driver.

There's a 2006 registered green QPV 4.2 coming up for auction as well. It's done 100,000 miles and has the expected battle scars (sticky buttons, broken reverse toggle, rear wheel arch road rash, blistered lacquer on roof, rusty wheel bolts, etc.). But I'd imagine it'll go for a cheap-and-cheerful price if you simply want a stylish dark green Maser to drive around in when the Cup is tucked away.

It’s the 4.7 S at CarandClassic on No reserve.
For some reason they’re starting two QPV facelifts on the same day…

Just had a look. It certainly looks/reads like a nice example. I’ll have to take their word for it about the green though. My (old) eyes see it as black in the photos! And because it’s a modern Maserati at auction, it’s virtually guaranteed to be a bargain.

So, Maser or Rangie? First World problem!

Well the Rangie is really for the wife, which means I’d inherit her 535i Touring, which I’ve more than fallen in love with.
Whereas in alternative world, the Maser replaces the 166 Ti, which is getting to the stage where it needs lots of things at the same time.
Can a QPV.2 live outside in all weathers though? It’s be like owning a Rembrandt and mounting it above a radiator.

All 4 of my QPV’s lived outside and were used daily, over a 10 year period. I’d hazard a guess that most of them are kept outside.

To be fair until coming to France and having a decent size Garage my cars were always driveway parked.
Keeping them clean and well waxed certainly works well.

Reason I ask is that if I leave my 147 GTA overnight it responds by chucking up error codes (wheel sensors usually) in the manner of an aggrieved mistress

I wonder if you have some insulation breakdown. Never been able to keep cars garaged. Never had that kind (or indeed any other) sort of issue (Apart from the 116 transplant that lit up like a Christmas tree, but it did that no matter where it was parked!)

With many thanks to an online friend on your side of the pond, finally getting to fixing up that CEL from a missing fuel filler cap valve/gasket on the Spyder

Mine have always lived outside. Batteries don’t like it if left too long without driving them, especially when cold! Other than that, and the fact there is water getting in my GTA somewhere at the moment, they are fine.
Having said that I’d much rather have a sprawling property with a nice warm indoor man cave full of toys on trickle charge.

Cleaned it and gave it a run to keep everything ticketyboo - and scooped the rain water out of the boot again!

Investigated the cost of front discs from Tar Ox. €972 custom made.
Maserati Classiche are also sending over the documents and specifications, I might see if there’s a UK supplier that might be a bit less expensive.

BG Developments in Bromsgrove. If you go for an alloy bell and disc it’ll keep the cost down next time as you can just change the disc.
