Dear all. Great input! Thanks.
The Ford has been a good car. It is a Y reg and nothing works. But the engine and drive is good. It is a 1.8 so has a little umpffff. Which is good.
I have looked at a Focus ST. As the body shape and internal room is good.
I hadn't considered a Golf or BMW series 1 or 3. So will look into them.
I offered a Jag XF as I think for value for money they are superb. The depreciation is massive so for £10k I could get something very nice. In fact there is a supercharged one for sale near me at just over 10k!!
But alas wife thinks the Jag is too flash, hence no Maserati either. I won't go into the details, but been there done that almost got burnt but managed to escape with my body parts intact.
I liked the Volvo. The XC60 has great reviews. But again wife doesn't want a Chelsea tractor.
Is a Seat reliable? I haven't really thought about that.
As for the Alfa - do I really want to run an Italian as a family daily? Whilst it isn't expensive I would care more about it than I really would want to. I want to be able to park it next to the trolleys in the supermarket (as I know my wife will).
