Wet foot!

A couple of days ago I was driving my 2005 Spyder when my car tipped a tablespoon of water over my left foot. Then today it did the same thing over my wife’s left foot. It’s been hot and the AC has been on.

Wondering if this the famous leaking heat exchanger (?) problem. Any ideas on how to diagnose?

Thanks. I parked under a tree that shed a load of tiny seeds - so perhaps that? Is it an easy fix? How do you unblock a 1m (?) long rubber tube behind the dashboard?

Nope, it’s the black foam lagging on the AC pipe that goes over the pedal box has torn/come away from being kicked over the years.

This means the cold AC pipe condenses with the current hotter ambient air and forms water that drops on your left foot. I used to drive around bare foot and was an issue on all 3 of my 4200’s

That's exactly what Matt told me - we sorted it with a bit of pipe lagging from a well known builders supplier (TP) - bit of a faff to fix but job sorted - thanks Matt.

All good but it isn’t a steady drip that you’d expect with condensation on on cold AC pipe. It seems like an accumulation of water somewhere that suddenly gets released, perhaps with a bump or similar.

Do you get a sloshing of water sound when taking corners or the fan hitting water sound? - I had this in my 1st 4200 and it was water backed up in the overflow pipe

In case helpful, I believe this is the drain hose everyone is talking about.
It was accessed from the passenger side (in North America - right side) of my Coupe. Remove the carpet under the glove compartment and this is the tunnel between the driver and passenger side. There's a rubber bit that plugs into the tunnel as well - remove that from the tunnel and check for blockage. I believe some people cut it open a bit to stop it from blocking again.
