Not sure it was a good ideea in terms of costs and getting the money back later or ever?!but i kinda feel sorry for the car to see it there and i had to rescue it.If you didn't guess already, yes i have bought a cat D mc shift 2010 with 24k miles just under 40k.The car has suffered a small damage at the rear and you can't even see it only if it wasn't for the rhs exhaust bent.In terms of cost i would say 1500£ should be enough to get the job done. Now the other trouble is the battery! It was completly flat when i got there and the guys had the car jump started!Yes i know not a smart ideea but i had to convince myself that the car is running.Ok started and straight on the recovery truck heading back home. When we got home jump started again to unload from the recovery truck and have it parked but while i was reversing the car just died..and that was it!It didn't want to start again and all the dash full of failure msg like airbags, park brake, steering wheel...I'm in big trouble or a new battery should have all the failure gone?I was on the phone this evening with Joe Macari for the cost of a new battery but apparently their own system has crashed and no ideea of the price of a new battery untill tommorow morning.Where's the best place to get a new battery?I'll post some pics once is cleaned. Thanks guys!

Eurospares. You need a big fat Bosch. The GTS one on their web site is too small - you need one for a 2010 QP. I'd wager a jam doughnut that your party-lights dash is due to the bolloxed battery. Don't start it again.

Well done on saving the beast. You are doing God's work.

Yeah new battery should sort everything out. Well done. Did you get it inspected before you bought it?

Nice, I think I saw it advertised, looked an easy fix, hopefully so, and hope a new battery cures the dash lights.

If will fit i'll definitely get this one.I'll check in the morning the size.Is there any procedure for changing the battery?
Sorry for all this dumb question but for some reason i've been left with the impression that these cars are fragile

Battery tip. Buy from eurocarparts on eBay with their click and collect service. Its actually cheaper than if you just walk in. And they'll have it waiting when you get there.

Disconnect earth lead first, reconnect last. The usual drill.

Re Eurocarparts I bought online and they delivered for free the next day.

Good attitude! Is there a depot near you?

Incidentally, you'll need a charger / conditioner thingy. CTEK do good ones. Have a look on Amazon. I think I have the CTEK 5. Or 7. I'd look but it's outside keeping things alive. These guys drain batteries like you wouldn't believe and unless your car gets a good run - 30 mins minimum - once or twice a week one day you'll wake up to a sulky dead battery.
