Would like to welcome Mark onto the forum....Know you haven't posted yet but it will only be a matter of time as I know you will bee in a Maserati soon....

Some of you may remember Mark from Llandow in the Summer.....He was the owner of the stunning white Alfa 147 GTA......I'm please to say from seeing the GS's and 4200'S at Llandow Mark has to scratch his Maserati itch..............It happens to the best of us Mark....

I think it was because he couldn't understand why he couldn't catch my little GTV around the track and has decided that next time it would be his dust I see.........It was great to meet you at Llandow Mark and a shame you didn't make the October one but I'm sure we can get you at the next one...

Anyway good luck with the search and as I said on the other side I expect a visit from you once you have bought your Maserati...

Cheers, Andy.

Toomanyhorses? Sounds like he's a native American Indian or he's having a whinge! I hope he doesn't bring any other questionable Alfa habits with him!! BTW, TMH welcome to the light side, I'm sure you will have fun.

Here's hoping it suits his desires. He too will probably be wondering why he didn't do it sooner, much like the rest of us.

I'm looking forward to hearing what Mark has done.......It was from talking to him at Llanodow that he realised that his life was not complete until he had a Maserat

It looks like he has bought it as it's showing as 'Now Sold". Looks like he couldn't wait any longer to make his life complete! Good effort and welcome to the fold TMH.

Hey Andy, thanks for introducing me, and the rest of you for your comments of welcome :)

Andy, I was driving when your pm arrived via Alfaowner. Wife read it out. Had me worried there for a mo when you said "Well Mark....either the car sold before you got there or you are now the proud owner.....Hope you bought her as she looks a cra*ker." I thought she'd gone as I rang them at lunch to postpone to Monday! Now I realise what you meant, re the different PH one. Phoned them, still for sale. Phew! Have high hopes for that one.

I decided, as many of you have advised on here to drive a more than one before deciding, to go and look at one more locally. Went to look at a 2002 at a garage in Bristol (hate time-wasters personally, but felt it only wise). Other than a worrying "missing history, previous owner not dropped off" - as in all of it, and a couple of minor imperfections consistent with age, she was a beauty, and driving it has only reaffirmed my decision to get one.

Also times tight today, off in a mo to a Surprise B'day party, (as his wife has had a marquee put up today, I'm guessing it may not be a surprise!) Just picked up a fancy dress horse for the wife and I. Her best attribute is her butt, so I'm going at the back :D gigety gigety gigety.
The guy whose birthday it is had a 3200 from new for a couple of years, and then an DB7. Said he preferred the Maserati over all.

Thanks so much for all your pointers and help so far, Andy, and I'll let you know how it goes on Monday.

Ha! See your point. No. Hope not, no "questionable Alfa habits" from me, or whinging. All positive stuff. Love my Alfa's charm actually

Felt obliged to explain this to Andy earlier:

" four years of having a 147GTA without a Q2 and it having too much horse power imo, it seemed apt; though the white one (my second) copes easily with the power as it has a Q2 and konis. Also, we keep, Event and train horses, and at any given time, we have "too many horses"! I'm hoping that I don't feel that the 4200 has too many for it's chassis to cope with, all grunt no grip?!? Don't really care actually. Be good to have RWD again anyway.) "

May see me change my name when I realise it's no longer apt ;)

Hi Mark...sounds lke you are hocked my man...............Sorry about the confusion, I looked on PH and say it was still for sale but the 90k miles one had sold so realised Benny was looking at that one......Glad you popped on as this is the only place to get all the info you need to pick the right car.....

Where was the one in Bristol Mark........Was it high miles as Peters old car is for sale or was at a dealer around Bristol I believe........

Are you goignt o get Emblem to take a gander if you like it......?.....Worth a call as they really know their stuff. They came up to Llandow the other week as support. Good indie......

Good luck Monday hope all goes well

OOps, sorry for the confusion guys! Saw the vintage one was now sold, put 2 and 2 together and got 23.6. Thought it had just happened as it didn't have SOLD blazoned all over it. Sorry TMH or Needsomemorehorses as you will become!

Jeese Andy, you're up bright and early on a Sunday! Me too, sadly, (at Aldon International as my Son's competing) and after partying last night, everything's a bit too loud and bright!

I did see that blue one thanks. It looks a beauty, but the pale grey leather, in the pics, isn't really to my taste, though I may look at it in the flesh if the one at hills is not right.

The one I looked at yesterday btw was the black one on autotrader at NCCS. On 66k miles, and for a nine year old, five owner car, is in lovely nic. Was it anyone's on here?
