Watch Lovers Thoughts Please....

I read an article recently that was basically saying that quality of manufacture , materials and production techniques largely mean that paying over a couple hundred quid for a wristwatch is unnecessary. It raises the question of what you're buying into....
A brand. A form of brand snobbery perhaps. Expensive service bills, maybe ?
I think they become trinkets. Very nice trinkets, sure. And a status statement - I couldnt justify thousands on a watch. Not even £500 on a Lamborgini timepiece ( I dont have a Lambo)
I'd just break it, lose it or not feel I can wear it. Having climbed trees and worked on the forest floor for many years, not wearing a wristwatch became second nature....

So can we safely say that art, wine and watches are all in the same in the same category? (maybe a few more things)

Im not sure Im happy that wine goes in the same category .
Good wine/bad wine...definitely happens.
Cheap wine/good wine...that happens but less often.

Bad wines definitely have greater adverse health implications....
