A good news story about a warranty! After hearing many negative reviews and opinions about warranty's I thought I'd let everyone know I've made a successful claim on a wheel sensor for a GTS, costing about 1K to replace and of course I'm delighted as I fully expected the claim to be rejected , I've got a faulty parking sensor I'll let everyone know how that goes.

yep Warrantywise very good, you won't have any issues

RAC on the other hand, worst ever! tried to put claim on the Alfa, they seems to have the view that failing part is OK as it hasn't failed - by the time it fails it could be lot worse and more expensive - I just replaced the part .

I renewed my WW policy while I had a cheque on the kitchen counter for more than the next annual premium

Springs, variators (although that was a fight), alternator, exhaust manifold from memory

Rac platinum warranty doesnt even cover electric seats. Good job it was a free warranty as not worth a bean. Unless the engine fails on a car and they might chip in.

Talking of which i was in a used car dealership service dept a few weeks ago. On the white board is a list of all the cars they had in for work around 20 cars. The board listed the problem for each car and if it was warranty work etc and a status of claim / work.

2 cars were in for total engine failure which were approved. 3 others had been approved various things and the rest were rejected or being done as good will. All this from a dealership that is RAC approved and all cars checked to RAC agreed standard before sale.

Needless to say i wont be recommending that dealership to anyone. Mrs spkenny had a nightmare with them before having to reject the car. RAC warranty didnt cover the faults on her car either.

The dealership is a big outfit that i can only see going bump in a year or two unless their standards improve.

You will be lucky to get the RAC out to look at your car let alone pay to fix the facker.

That’s exactly the claim I had with WW a year or so ago!
Despite Marios best efforts they very reluctantly paid on the hub as ‘goodwill’ and flatly refused 2 parking sensors, saying they were ‘worn out parts’!

I had top level cover, ALL mechanical and electrical parts. Exactly the same, extended policy provided to the previous owner as an approved used Maserati

Bunch of effing shysters the lot of them. And WW are apparently one of the better ones! Could have fooled me! Seems you got lucky, I shall never have an aftermarket warranty again, it was the first time I ever tried (risked) one, it failed.
