Just found the paperwork and the passenger side was replaced in 2012 but no other notes recorded as to why........shame Gavin not still around since he had it at the time.
@ phil- oh for sure but she will be forgiven:excellent:
@ Robert. Apologies, think I missed your point and yes, keeping all the details in one place (without chatter posts ;)) would be a good idea.

wow - well done all for catching this and hopefully before someone is hurt badly - I suspect the cars will a fault will now be grounded until a fix is agreed or new parts installed (which is frighting sum of money)

if I can with just the wheel removed will be checking mine the weekend and will report back.

also agree a list would be good to see what cars have been checked and if OK or not

My uppers are fine. I'll report on rears when I have got to them. Removing the uppers is the only way to check them IMO and that requires removing the brake pipe and shock absorber...

Mr C

Thank you for submitting the above report. We will forward your report to the manufacturer for further advice.

Attached is our acknowledgement letter and a copy of our guide to vehicle safety defects.

I would refer you to the request in the letter for any evidence such as photographs or independent reports. I note from your report the defective parts are available. In the first instance is Is possible for you to take some images of the defect parts and forward them to me at this address.

Thank you

Regards

John

Do we have the owners list in spreadsheet form. I assume we are looking at 3200s through to the last of the GSs. 170ish cars ? How about an editable sheet where owners can enter if theirs are original, cracked, previously replaced etc. Would get a good overview of the problem.

Not far from me...if we need parts taking there I commute from London down the M4 corridor each week.

So should I be doing a referral to vosa myself or are these being co-ordinate by someone on here?

Inspecting mine in the Morning. I'm dreading this and I hope they're ok but all this isn't putting my mind at rest :(

Oh well, it can't be dealt with right now and I'll deal with whatever comes, love the car and this is a bump in the road.

Done
Edit: in the other info section I put a small blurb about being aware of other cars with the same cracks in the same place and how it will be unlikely to be picked up at an mot due to where it is and could lead to fatalities if fails at speed or at a junction. Also attached the pic I took.

Well done bud!

Get both your girls up on a ramp supported by the body Robert since the place where the crack starts is better visible that way than when the weight is on the wheels.......you know it makes sense!

Not the Arctic Tundra, the Yorkshire Tundra mate..!! It's a bit like throwing snowballs in northern Spain during a blizzard..??

I know it all makes sense, but I have so much stuff on at the minute I am struggling to fit it all in, but will have to..!!
