So following on from this thread https://www.sportsmaserati.com/inde...sly-considering-a-gt.18527/page-3#post-649239 I definitely want one.

I'm VERY close to pulling the trigger on one at a dealer, but before I do, I thought it worth while asking on here if anyone is considering selling very soon that isn't already advertising.
There have been a few very good ones this year that have gone for a bargain price in a matter of days, due to trade in prices etc. (Ewans for eg)... and everyone likes a bargain!

Current wish list is 4.7 -
MC Shift (might consider an S but would prefer it to have Sport pack etc to get as close to an MC as possible)
Black or Grigio granito Also don't mind red or white if they have black accents.
Interior either Black or the lighter shades of cream.
Would prefer a '59+ due to variators and general age related stuff
and circa 40k miles or less as I can see me keeping it long term and I do 5-6k a year.

But open minded to some variation from the above.
Cash waiting, what you got?

Only one car and it's Nasser's a proper bargain.... You seen it on the other thread? Nero Carbonio, in excellent shape...

Yeah seen it, and been to view it. It's a very nice car at a fair price! Top bloke too.
I've been very torn between his, Geof Capes' and the one at the dealer I mention.....to the point where I'm doing speadsheets of potential costs, dealer vs private.. etc.. to help me decide. :as001 (2):

Just wondering if there are any members that have not yet advertised that maybe considering selling.

All good cars. What's the dilema?

Get one with recent clutch, decent tyres and discs and it won't need much maintenance for the first year. I'd go with Geoff's as it wants for nothing,.

If you intend to keep it long term, I'd not worry too much about things like clutch and tyres and brakes, as you'll be changing those anyway. Instead, be absolutely sure you are happy about the colour (both exterior and interior) and the spec and the gearbox choice - as they are the things you can't easily change. No point in trying to save a grand or so up front but then have to put up with a car that's the wrong colour. Like Essex white, for example;)

If my budget was low thirties, I'd be buying Geoff's car. But it's no secret I like blue. (That said, I bought a new car last weekend, and that's dark green!)

The dilema is, each one has it's pros and cons, due to age, colour, spec etc. And each has short term costs to consider, whether it be needing a service soon, or a little TLC to get them to where I would want them before I was happy.
There are also the 'possible' future repair costs to consider. Variators, clutches, bushes, AC compressor, F1 Pump etc.. Each have had some of the big items done but none have had all them. So its just a matter of weighing them up.

Ewan, you make a very good point. Over a longer period of ownership I will have to shell out for the big consumables at some point anyway. Just obviously would rather it not all be in the first year if can be avoided.
Good advise, and I will concentrate on colour and spec first over what makes financial sense in the short term.

Somewhere a compromise will have to be made, or you may well end up waiting for a very long time till one comes available that meets all your criteria, up to you where or if that compromise is made.
