My eyes, my eyes. Just nearly thrown the TV out the window as I stumbled across vintage voltage on Quest.

That beautiful 308GTS being converted to electric, and there was a BMW 3.0 CSL in the background

I just, I just, I can’t speak sorry you’ll have to give me a moment

:too_sad:

Here's a virtual Hug and shoulder to cry on...there, there. Don't worry there's plenty more 308s that have not been sullied.

Plenty more …… for now! The fact there’s even just one like this is enough! I honestly do, not, get, it.

I’ll be honest, my overriding memory of driving the 308 was that it was a beautiful object with a great (of its time) interior, that had barely enough power to get out of its own way. The speedo was over reading by 20 mph, which made it seem like it was pulling the skin off a rice pudding when it wasn’t. And it didn’t sound especially good as it had a **** fuel injection system.

I wouldn’t convert one to electric, because I wouldn’t buy one in the first place.

I’d probably get aeriated if someone did it to an F40, but a steel bodied 308 (as opposed to a vetro resina) isn’t a huge loss to me. Each to their own I guess.

Don’t get me wrong I’ve done probably 1500 miles in a 355 Berlinetta and the gearbox was ****. Manual mikes ahead (also drove a manual).

But I still wouldn’t change a thing about it. I’m my opinion anyone that claims to be a car person but doesn’t prefer an engine over a motor is of the iPhone generation and not a petrol head.
Build your own car’s but stay clear of the ICE’s

So what you are saying is you wouldn’t buy one, don’t want to own one, but are offended by someone changing one to suit themselves?

Seems fair, I get very, very angry about the colour of my neighbours lamp shades. I never see them, or use them but they are a **** colour. It boils my ****.

So you’re fine with it then?

Something like that shouldn’t be changed in that way. I could buy a Picasso tomorrow and get my crayons out on it just because I like crayon pictures.
The fact I owned it doesn’t make it right. It would be very wrong

One of our suppliers doesn't have an ounce of petrol in his veins but the love of his life is an electric Merc SL Pagoda, he loves its style, its simplicity and its get up and go. He bought it for journies outside the city but finds he uses it often for his daily commute. He wouldn't have an original classic car but wouldn't be without his Pagoda.

It takes all sorts just not my thing
