Very close to being a fully fledged Gransport owner.

I'm soon to be a Gransport owner after many years of wanting a Maserati, I put down a deposit on a fellow Forum members car yesterday.

I was looking at buying a 4200 Coupe, but when I went to have a sit in this car to see if I could actually get in and out easily of a coupe (back injury), the owner said he was thinking of selling and the very favourable price.

So first up was sell my rally car which I did on Friday.
I just need to sell my current road car now to finance the remainder, but if there's no takers by the end of next week then it'll go to We Buy Any Car.

I tried We Buy Any Car with my well sorted Alfa 166 TS some years back, for a laugh and went totally honest, think offer was £75 subject to inspection...

Don;t trust Philip Schofiekd and the kitten, and it doesn’t take ‘just 60 seconds’ for the valuation.

How I hate those tw@ts...

Very very nice, Live for today. WBAC will come back with a better offer if you ignore them, it will still be miserable though.

I've been reading posts on this website for a couple of years now and learned a lot about the highs and lows of 4200 and GS ownership, thankfully the current owner has pampered this car for the last however many years he's owned it, and completed most if not all of the issues and the costs of keeping a car like this on the road.
All the brakes have been done, suspension full overhaul, new clutch etc etc, and the overall condition considering the mileage (103k) is outstanding and a credit to it's previous and current owner, in all honesty it would easily pass for a car with half the mileage.

I'm now like a kid waiting for Christmas and can't wait until I go to collect it.

My next Maserati, whether GS or GTS MC Shift, will be from a forum member for 3 reasons, you save money, you get a known and honest car, you gain a friend.

Congratulations on the purchase - really exciting times ahead !

Nice one.
Andy is one of my oldest mates through Rallying and we have competed together and had some Great times.
His son did his first Rally with me co driving as did my own son both at 16.
Really hope you enjoy this Adventure I know I certainly have with my Italian girls.

Mmm, thinking about Phil you have been responsible for a lot of my recent car purchases and car related tomfoolery!
Coupe Quattro (remember doing a 12 car, me driving and you navigating and neither of us had a clue!), Suzuki Swift GTi, Celica GT4 rally car and now a Maserati.
One thing's for sure that once you move to France and possibly buy a 2CV is that I WON'T be following suit on that one.
