Urgent: brake master cylinder

Had explained on my winter restoration topic, but also in MC as well, that after installing the FD brake lines, the brakes bite the discs and do not return back.

Have found today that it is the brake master cylinder that makes the problem.

Had a search round and found out that the Audi A3 has the same pump.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-A3-1...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a1690cfe1

Took a look at alternative parts thread, found nothing.

SO, my question is, are there any other manufacturer's that use the same bosch 311967 pump?

It's been used by 575 and 360 as well.

Hey Nikos,

I've just been diagnosed with a leaking master cylinder and I found this thread. Did you find out if the part is the same as the A3?

Regards and thanks,

Is the Bosch labelled part not much cheaper anyways, would recommend sticking with the bosch part Nikos!

Just did a price check on Eurospares and it's not worth the hassle or uncertainty for a relatively inexpensive but critical part. I've ordered a Maserati part for peace of mind.

If there is less than 20% in it, I would stick with the Maserati part, as Neil says, its not worth it.

I have found a used A3 Bosch master cylinder (it's exactly he same Bosch part number), but what i bought was terrible condition so it didn;t work.

I have ordered a new one from eurospares and i'm expecting it to arrive. It comes with the servo, so once i have figured this out, i'll ebay the remaining part.

In my situation (biting brakes) it cann't be servo or abs unit. I installed the FD brake lines and while making the calipers bleeding (to remove air from the hydraulic braking system), the engineer pressed the brake pedal so hard that may have cause the issue i'm having now.

Only dis with eurospares is that they have to order it via Maserati Italy, so a 15 day delay..
