Not as long as the waiting list to buy a Hermes Birkin bag though! You have to put your name down to join the queue to pay a minimum of £5k for a handbag that you won't get for at least another year or so! Having said that, they do appreciate - it's easy to pay £20k for a vintage one, and a lot more than that if its actually anything particularly rare or special.

As my wife says, your not "spending" money on these bags, you're "investing" in them. That one at £33k was a lot less than that when it was new.

If you spend £33k on a second hand Ghibli tomorrow, it's likely to be at least 25 years before it reaches that value again. If you spend £33k on the right Birkin tomorrow, there's a good chance it'll have gone up by this time next year. And your wife will prefer it.

But they're rubbish to drive, so I'd still recommend the Maser.
