I thought they were supplied with the car, unless you had an emergency slimbo wheel as a spare?? Anybody spots one, please drop me a line.

My local Texaco garage has the one from the Alfa's (without the fluid) for sale for about a fiver, check your local Texaco.

Or you can get one here, had mine for a decade now, not going to let it go, sorry.

Or there is this one, but it has some dodgy branding on it:

Try David Askew.

£700 for bits and pieces left over, he's having a laugh??
Matt, I need one full with the fluid, or there's not a lot of point. Our AC has one in a pouch shaped for the car, so I thought they came as standard kit, obviously not, but I need something?

Rob...as I found with using Vredsteins, if you hit a pothole, easy to nip sidewall due to metal re-inforcing strip inside against rim and then loose tyre off rim.......better to have good break down cover!

Frank, I have that, but as a back-up and if in the middle of nowhere, it would be reasuring to have something for a puncture just in case.
I will have to have a look in the AC and see if I can find out where that originated from.

Beau, thanks for that mate! So this one on eBay is for an empty can inside a bag, for £12??? Crikey!!!
I think I'll get one from the supermarket and find a zipper bag, I think I have one in the Jag that I use for spare oil, that should do.

I have the original foam canister in the Maserati blue bag.
I'll never use it though.
Good for originality, that's all.
I just have several cans of Holts thrown under instead for day to day driving.

Mike, can you remember if the bag and can were original equipment, or optional extra?

I keep 2 spare's in the car and a repair kit due to the nature of my work and the times I travel I need to be able to get to work with as little hassle as possible, one spare is a space saver the other is a full size spare. If like the other day when I did have a problem and had a blow out on the M4 I got someone in to do it rather than use my spares up but I was heading home and in no rush

I don't know about masser but on my GTA Alfa suplyed a space saver but later sent out letters to collect repair kits as the space savers were not suitable for the car running brembos. With the TI. I had a space saver And repair kit when I bought her

Original equipment.
If you look on the Eurospares web site, the early 4200's have the can of foam in the Maserati bag (actually, more of a sleeve), and it appears that the latter 4200's/GS have the electric pump and goo instead, also in a Maserati bag.
The only optional extra I believe is if you have the space saver wheel instead.

Mike, thanks for that, I will have to check the car and if nothing, buy something?

I'm not sure if my tyre inflator works, should it start making noises as soon as plugged into the cigarette lighter?

Ross, which sort do you have then, the pump, if so, yes it should make a noise, maybe only when it's loaded with gunge though, not sure.

I've got a electronic tyre compressor powered by the cigarette lighter. It should have come with the "tyre weld" stuff, but I think the original can must have been binned after expiry.

I've tried plugging the compressor into a cigarette lighter but it didn't do anything.
