Trying to buy a 3200 GT

My 2001 3200 GT has given me a lot of grief pleasure. After sorting out some issues earlier, it is now fine piece of machinery, and I enjoy every minute in the car. I have even come to like the pretty 'CHECK ENGINE' light, and am now hoping it doesn't go out. Even though a friend of mine would like to buy my car, I won't part with it...

You should get the SD2 software available on this forum to remove that check engine light. The software works well & it's simple to use.

I had an unusual problem with my year 2000 car. A professional mechanic used a wifi diagnostic tool to check errors when the car needed a new clutch & had a faulty TB. After all the necessary repairs were done the car started & ran well. But only once. On the next start it went into limp mode. After a power-down reset the same thing would happen, only one start & the next would trigger limp mode.
After about three weeks examining everything suspect on the car with a Leonardo tool we found the culprit,a Bluetooth module under the dash. The best explanation for why the problem instantly disappeared after removal of the Bluetooth,is that it had stored the error codes and was somehow feeding them back to the ECU. The previous owner installed the Bluetooth & I was unaware of it.

Solna, can’t be that hard...

I think maybe he was teasing me. I had to show him my Swedish business card with the office address on it, and he said "Oh, Solna, of course!"

Another taxi driver in Stockholm, on finding that I was English, asked me what the best UK medical school was. It turned out he was a Somali doctor who had been a refugee in Sweden for a six months, who would have to retrain to be qualified in Europe and was trying to decide between UCH and the Karolinska Institutet. He spoke better Swedish than me. And better English than me. (Than I?)

Hi everyone, I always loved the 3200GT since they arrived. I’m a petrolhead with a flare for all different types of cars, I have owned around 50 cars from Chevrolet Suburban to Mercedes sl55. I currently own a jaguar xj6 1975 and a Chevrolet Avalanche.
I'm trying to bye a green 3200GT here in Sweden. It s on an advert, but the seller don’t answer... a little frustrating saying the least. I really enjoyed this forum and have leareed a lot!
take care out there. Gustaf
I have to admit, they are a gorgeous car, just very.....Italian! After starting with replacing the brake shoes I know have a list of things as long as my arm to do! I’ve got to ask, what was the SL55 like? It’s on my wish list!

Hi, the SL55 was a wonderful car. Really fast on winding roads. To take down the roof and make it a convertible from a solid coupe wa 15 s. But it was not really fun. It was to smoth. Put it in gear, stamp the pedal and woosh you are at 250km. Unfortunately the gearbox in manuel are to slow. That I think you can fix btw. All in all a great super fast car but a little boring.

Thanks for the info. Well the 3200 certainly isn’t boring! I think they managed to put one on its roof on the press day when it was released!
