Tracker Subscription?

I was curious to know people's take on whether or not to take out a tracker subscription. I can see the benefit of having one and believe they have their place. If my car was stolen, I think I would want it back provided it wasn't too damaged but of course I hope to never be in the position to have to make that decision.

The question come downs to is it value for money? The difference in my insurance premium would be negligible but the service does not come cheap:

1 year - £304.00
2 year - £576.00
3 year - £818.00

So I thought that I would ask the collective wisdom of you guys to see what you thought, thanks all

1) I would not want it back
2) The insurance savings are far less than the subscription

So for me its wasted money.

I completely agree with the above. Back in the 90's insurance companies gave 5% off if you gat your motorbike datatagged. Nobody bothered as it wasn't cost effective. Nowadays, insurance give out free DNA microdot kits.
There's an alternative using mandown systems, which are for lone workers. They do not use the car battery but have GPS trackers and have sim card. Cheap and cheerful.

Waste of money. Especially on a car such as yours which is very rare and all but impossible to on-sell with a forged new identity.

I agree not to bother. Our Clio V6 has a tracker, being French it has been in need of some attention. One occasion it was low loaded away, a few hours later the tracker company rang to apologise but they had detected unauthorised movement of the car a few hours previous. With my current insurance the premium is higher if I have tracker active, bizarre, but they claim the cost of tracker work is high on recovery after a theft. Also from experience why would you want a car back after some scum bag had taken it. I have been far from impressed with Maserati tracker from a contact point of view. If any unsavoury characters are reading all my trackers are active!
