Toe Angle for 3200

This is our workshop manual.
98751
Front: 0.5 to 0.9 mm in total of toe-in
Rear: 1.8 to 2.2 mm in total of toe-in

Usually, we measure the toe at the outer edge of the tire.
However, the picture in the workshop manual insists that we should measure at the outer edge of the wheel.
The angle will be like this.

- Front
If we measure at the wheel: 2 to 3 minutes on each side, 4 to 7 minutes in total of toe-in
If we measure at the tire: 1 to 2 minutes on each side, 3 to 5 minutes in total of toe-in

- Rear
If we measure at the wheel: 7 to 8 minutes on each side, 14 to 17 minutes in total of toe-in
If we measure at the tire: 5 to 6 minutes on each side, 10 to 12 minutes in total of toe-in

Should we trust the manual and measure at the wheel?

so long since mine was done cannot recall.
Stating the obvious check that any adjustment can be made before setting off to the shop. Unless new rear wishbones have been installed the steel rod and nuts are likely seized into the alloy arm.

I would. Different tyres have different dimensions (even for the same “size”) so for it to be right, I’d want to do it from the rim. Most alignment machines have pins that set the measuring flag a distance from the rim anyway.

Toe it in on the front a smidge, Its so much nicer to drive than the factory settings and about 30 mins of negative camber.

1degree of toe in a good way to go for the 32/42 chassis? Has anyone got settings for a good fast road set up?

Maserati is the only manufacturer I know who specifies the toe by the outer edge of the wheel. All the other manufacturers specify it by the outer edge of the tire.

The picture of the toe is almost identical to that of the Biturbo era, and it makes me anxious as I don't trust what they did in that era.

Does anyone know how they specify the toe for the M138 (4200)?

I was reliably told that the Asetto Corsa 3200 was set up like this

Front:
Toe in 1.5 / 0.5 mm Camber -30' / +10' Incidence 4 deg 30' / 15'
Rear:
Toe in 4.0 / 0.5 mm Camber -1 deg 30' / 10'

As above, this is what I got from Maserati when I had mine - it's a fair bit different from the standard 3200 set up
