A down hill section for 5.3 miles is hardly indicative of real life MPG.

My diesel daily will do 999 mpg miles heading from the M5/M4 junction to the M4 Severn crossing, but that us just a 2 mile down hill secrion.

2012 GT Sport Auto, even at 69.9999999+ I get an average of 24mpg on the motorway.

Wasn't downhill - just flat.

This is (almost) my entire trip home to work, M50 (flat) when traffic was slow but flowing. more dust but at least I'm on Eir Mobile...

When working in Dubs city centre I was averaging 11-12 mpg so I've no axe to grind!

Never averaged the right side of 20mpg on any fun car for a long while. I don't bother looking any more. Except for the XJL SuperSport as somehow I've averaged about 24mpg in that which is quite amazing. Mix of 50/50 short and long journeys.

Averaged 10.6mpg in the E60 M5!

Easy, the 4.7 is a proper full fat NA V8, and the V6....is a V6
