They'll continue to fall and I reckon in 18 months time, an 80000 mile car will be around £10000, big saloon cars of any marque depreciate.

I must admit that I expected the same but have been pleasantly surprised how well they have held up. Anything advertised at around 15k or below has got snapped up pretty quickly - not sure whether that was specific to the QP though or just secondhand cars in general holding up well.

As a QP owner it would be nice if they bottomed at around 12-14k but appreciate 10k is possible. I guess when you get to these levels though it's all about condition and how well maintained the car has been - we've all been there.

As for this particular car, 67k miles is pretty high and the colour combo won't appeal to everyone I would imagine - so room for negotiation perhaps?

I agree Dhanj, good ones will always be worth £3-4k more than bad ones, even if they've got a lot of miles on them. You can get a 60000 mile car now for £14-15k so give it time, they're a ridiculous bargain now, if they've got a good history, clutch etc, ppi as always. Easy to spend £5k on getting one right.

15k will buy a good QP now??

It'll buy one, might not be a good one! Or maybe a good one that's just high mileage. There may be the odd gem out there that's cheap, but not many of them. If the one in question on this thread had a price agreed at £15k subject to PPI, there you go. The big question is passing a PPI, there's also these cars that have to be worth a look if you want a £15k ish QP:

As always, and I'm learning about this more every day, with every car I look at; a 'good one' is a good deal more expensive whichever car you're looking for, be it a GS, 4200, 3200 etc, and other marques for that matter. If it's cheap, it's usually for a reason....

Possibly Dem . As I say, I have seen them advertised for around 15k or just under but they have been very high miles (80k or over) - I have no idea about condition of these cars mind you - I didn't go that far with any research. Sounds like you are showing some interest in that particular car. I'd say if you like the colour combo and the car is as clean and well looked after as previously mentioned, go for it and bargain hard!

As I say, I've only ever seen high milers advertised at 15k or below. It would be interesting to learn what the realistic break up value is on an early QP (2004-2006). Having tried to source odds and sodds for mine, I know parts can be pretty pricey! As Loz mentioned in anther post, second hand parts can be sourced at reasonable prices - I have seen them myself - but getting the part you need (especially if it is colour specific) can often mean a patient waiting game.

EDIT: Agree with Dicky there. Anything advertised sub 17k should be considered with a view to making an offer!
