Hello Guys,
It's been a while since I've posted here for various reasons, life has it's ups and downs and around the time I was looking to buy a Maserati I had a major downer of someone running in to the side of my GTA (on a roundabout) with prolonged insurance shenanigans finally offering a 50:50 which I wasn't going to take I ended up paying for the work myself and once I got the car back all nice and new I had a reinvigoration of my love for the car.
Well recently my circumstances have changed again and I find myself looking, again, at alternatives to the GTA as a 2nd Car, occasional daily driver, and as a good friend of mine said, I've been running a 3 door hatch on a supercar budget for the past 3 years (nearly 20K in running costs).
I have also recently been diagnosed with a Sacro Iliac (SI) Joint problem (caused by too much xbox as a caution to gamers on here) which could last for months and end up with me on steroid injections as part of the treatment, obviously running the GTA on coilovers would be a serious detriment to my healing process and may actually complicate things so I've started thinking about Grand Tourers again and oddly the Maserati came straight to mind.
Not sure what to do yet, I've recently spent a small fortune on 60K service, engine rebuild, gearbox rebuild, new driveshafts, wishbones, catless manifold conversion, etc so in a way I'm conflicted as I'm just getting the car how I always envisaged it would be, fast to the detriment of things that should be far quicker, like the TVR T350 that got a shock the other day.
Anyway, I seem to have a complete inability to make a decision about this and one day soon may just go chop it in for a diseasel mondeo in a knee jerk reaction to my back pain but before my fiscal senses get ahead of themselves I really do want to give the Maser a chance to get under my skin (here's hoping it's actually a good choice as a comfortable quick cruiser as well as the only one I've been in is Loz's GS which is probably a little hardcore for my present situation).
I'm sure you'll all be seeing a lot more of me again over the coming weeks and as for buying a Maserati, well... what will be will be.
Sean
