Might have to do that one yourself then :) I couldn't find a link to the TG review of the 4200, looks like its been removed from Youtube at the request of the BBC.

So true.
I'm not complaining.
Could not warrant spending £30k on a second toy car, so spending half that amount, and getting my butt on the seat of a Maserati is win win for me!

It might be worth twice....but its not twice the car.....your forgetting the weak link in how good a car performs...the driver behind the wheel

Chaps..a question i've always had, but after a small search i think i found the answer. Hammond and others say that the GS is better handling than a 4200. A friend of mine has a GS, and i didn't find any better handling.

After a eurospares check i found out that: springs, shocks, antiroll bars, front wishbone bushings are all the same, with the previous beeing responsible for handling. Personally i think that only the wheels give a slightly better handling, due to rim size and offset. remember, bigger offset gives a lower gravity point, leading to better handling.

SO, i think that only the wheels make the GS handle a bit better.Plus the media of course, that advertised the GS as a sport version of the 4200.

Would love to know if someone knows a bit more regarding handling differences between GS and coupe.

Their suspension is lower too......plus power profile different........and am sure there are one or two other changes which make it better.......as ever though....whose behind the wheel?!

It's lower right, but height is adjustable on any 4200.

A right...whos's behind the wheel is an important question. Which way do you drive your nero Frank?

I agree. Whoever is behind the wheel probably determines the better between the GS and the 4200.

That's right, and why they say if you change the springs/lower the 4200, and add the FD DBW module to speed the gear change, you can better the GS.
Not sure the wheels can make a difference, the standard 18" are not exactly high profile!

I think the wheels make a difference, if they're different offset..aka it's like putting spacers. My friend who has the GS, has been co driver once i drove mine in the FD springs. He told me it was handling amazing, better than his GS.

I can't afford a Gransport and even if I could I don't think I would I can't look at those skirts without thinking what was the designer thinking.

I remember upsetting DL when the Gransport first came out by saying the outside looked like Tupperware and the inside with its Draylon cloth and 1 DIN head unit was a step backwards and looked awful.
Also in a drag race on the M32 after a Bristol AutoItalia day a Gransport couldn't gain on me so performance is really not there either.

For me the Gransport gave the 3200/4200 shape a more up to date look .......AFter all by then the 4200 bacis shape was knocking on 10 years old.......The Gransport and the 4200 facelift gave it a whole new lease of life.......

+1 but the shape of the model remains the same since 1999. A lot of people mix the 3200 and the 4200, they think they're the same model, due to almost the same exterior. So, it's not 10 years, it's much more.
