The elephant in the room... Calling all 3200 Manual Owners

I notice a lack of activity within the 3200 community regarding the pending 'clutch crisis' for manual car owners. I didn't become aware of this problem until a few months back and that's after 2 years of 3200 ownership without it once coming into conversation.

Perhaps i've misunderstood and there will be aftermarket replacements available? Or soon to be available?

Depending on responce, there might well be a 3200 manual coming onto the market very soon :rofl5:

I do know that Mike Roberts had an alternate route to obtain these but it was a couple of years ago.

Fret not, there is always a solution to any problem and this forum will assist.

If you go on the Maserati Shed Facebook page they advertise an upgraded clutch kit for the 3200 at £799. The product description reads:

Original Maserati and Sachs clutches are no longer available. So, we had these made.
They are only available as a three piece kit - as this is an upgraded design with more friction material and with a largely metal release bearing, rather than the failure prone, mainly plastic, Sachs original - which can actually melt!

Anything possible shall we say, If you were to send all your old Sach's clutch parts to AP Racing in Coventry, they would match up all the parts out of there own catalogue.. and a million miles better in quality too..

But as usual it costs!

This is a great call Dave. I might look at getting a batch made up and try and get a group buy discount if there is any interest.

I just contacted AP Racing recently looking for a kit for a Ghibli Ii which uses the same pressure plate and release bearing but they don't have any solution. I hope you'll be able to handle something with them.

How about Tilton then in the US.. It doesn't have to be a pull type clutch either if you use one of there internal bell housing hydraulic release bearings kits

With a bit of faffing I'm sure something could be knocked up..
