The World's Rarest and Most Expensive Car Wax at GBP24,000 Relea

LONDON, September 7, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- The world's most expensive car
wax-and probably its best-is soon to be revealed at a prestigious location in
London.

Definitive Wax Marble costs GBP24,000 a pot. The wax comes in a simple but
stylish white and grey marble cube, sourced in Athens. The secret ingredients
are sourced from refined natural fruit oils, locally sourced beeswax, and
imported carnauba wax from northern Brazil.

It is also the rarest car wax in the world-there is only one pot of
Definitive Wax Marble in existence-and it's owned by Brough & Howarth, the
prestigious vehicle appearance specialists who cater to some of the world's
most elite car owners and connoisseurs.

This very special car wax preparation is more than an exclusive paintwork
protection treatment, according to Jason Brough, Brough and Howarth`s master
polisher:

"Some of these vehicles are valued at over GBP1m and are pieces of art in
their own right, so the correct car care methods are critical in maintaining
their value," says Jason.

Brough & Howarth have found themselves in considerable demand by owners of
high-performance and luxury cars because of their exclusive wax treatments.
Using carnauba wax as the basis for high-quality car wax treatments isn't new,
but Definitive Wax Marble is. It has a unique blend of Brazilian carnauba wax,
beeswax and refined natural fruit oils that make it very special and rare. It
is now sought after by some of the most discerning individuals on the planet,
including some of the world's top connoisseur car collectors.

"You can put a GBP5,000 bespoke, tailor-made suit in the washing machine
and it would clean it. But you wouldn't, would you?" asks Jason.

The work that Brough & Howarth carry out isn't your usual car wash and wax,
of course. Treatments range from GBP325 up to the ultimate connoisseur
treatment called the "Brough & Howarth Effect," which is charged at GBP65 per
hour and will take at least 120 hours to complete.

Once clients have had their car treated, they have the option of taking up
the Brough & Howarth members-only private car care services. "Standard"
memberships start from GBP1,650, with bespoke memberships costing in excess of
GBP10,000.

Availability is limited for Brough & Howarth to carry out their treatments.
They often find their clients prepared to pay in excess of GBP20,000, just to
secure their time and expertise for their high-value vehicles.

Brough & Howarth say there isn't a car they won't apply their exclusive
Definitive Wax Marble to. They have only one condition:

"The paintwork on the vehicle must be in perfect condition prior to the wax
application. If it's not, we will ensure it is, even if it takes over 150 hours
to achieve the required results." And with an hourly rate of GBP65, some of
their bespoke car wax treatments will top GBP9,750, making it the most
expensive car wash treatment available in the UK today. Their clients are happy
to pay the bill though, for the result is an unique perfection.

Brough & Howarth (http://www.broughandhowarth.com/) is a world where the
best car wax costs GBP24,000 a pot, where perfection rules; and the words "that
will do" simply do not exist.

I know £20k is ridiculous but if you spent that on an unloved Enzo you could add £50k to its price....? Not a decision that I will ever have to make mind you.......

Before anyone is tempted to use the phrase 'you can't polish a turd', don't forget that you can varnish one!

Not that I'm calling skodas turds, by the way, or anything of the kind. Far from it. Splendid cars in their own way. Err, I'll get me coat...

This is just another case of too much money and nothing worthwhile to spend it on.
A wax finish for a car at £24k is just being ridiculous.
I would have thought that a valet and wax costing £2000 would be a great job and i very much doubt that you would tell the difference from one wax and another when you get to the top end of the waxes.
Let me give an example i have used before where a painter priced up a job on a largish mansion room and the labour was £15k & paint cost was £10,000 for special English heritage distemper paint specifically designed to original Georgian colours and made to cover lime plaster on a Georgian lathe and plaster walled property, the painter could not get a supply of the correct paint in time so went to B&Q and got some made up bog standard emulsion …the vendor was absolutely thrilled to bits and commented on the difference the finish was to “normal paint” …but it’s 10 cans at £6.99 per 5ltr can of B&Q emulsion!!

i cry at that, where i grew up people had to save up to be poor and some people spend 20k on a wax

Sorry mate, hope my comments were taken in the (indiscriminate, completely unpointed) manner they were intended. I meant everything I said about Skodas being fine work horses.

(Now, the Yugo... There's a car to reminisce over... unless anyone's seen a living one in the wild lately.)
