Died through ‘road traffic accidents’ - I am sure some must have died due to other causes in them. Boredom, suicide etc). Will get my coat Last time I looked nobody in the world had died in a XC90 , they've sold millions of them , I'd bet all the ones with problems get driven 3 miles a day
Agreed, Disco for really practical 7 seat option.Of the LR products, the Disco is the more practical and best 7 seat option, though the RRS is better looking, faster, etc. I’d have this or the XC90. The Merc looks too much like a corporate carrier/taxi.
I’m looking at 14 plate Freelander 2’s... Dean, would you say it’s worth the extra for a Disco? How much was yours? Pm me if you like. Dave...A bit dull looking as most of my cars....lots of greys and blacks!
You should def consider it. Cost of ownership seems fairly reasonable. Insurance is 30% less than what I used to pay for the Touareg (which was 1/3 of the value) - points to no fatalities on the XC90 since 2002. Annual service under £300 and road tax is £145 a year (before “luxury tax” surcharge). The warranty costs £380 to extend for 12months at the end of the 3 years. It's on our radar too.
Have to agree, test driven one and liked it, but the wife didn’t like the driving height positioning, she is no midget (if you can still say midget on here) but not right for her, but the disco she drives now is, so that was the end. So it’s a GLS as far as I can see, likely finalise a deal next week. But I agree with your choice. You should def consider it. Cost of ownership seems fairly reasonable. Looking at 3-4 y/o model w 30k miles, looks like depreciation isn’t too bad either.
At least you didn't buy it just because the seat inserts matched the days handbag, like we ended up doing! lol ( Mercedes with dark green inserts.)Have to agree, test driven one and liked it, but the wife didn’t like the driving height positioning, she is no midget (if you can still say midget on here) but not right for her, but the disco she drives now is, so that was the end. I finally pulled the trigger on my new DD. It came down to the final 2 - the GLS and the XC90. Having tried both, I had a slight preference for the GLS but I could not resolve myself to spend over £45k for a 3 y/o car that was still the previous generation as the new one came out 6months ago.
In the end, I got a mega deal from a Volvo main dealer - on a 8 months old XC90 inscription petrol w panoramic sunroof, winter pack (gotta love the heated steering wheel), only 4K miles on the clock and 2.4years left on warranty. For £38k!! A no brainer. They also offered the same PX value for my 2013 Touareg than WBAC... That is just incredible value.
I never considered myself a Volvo guy - I used to joke that owning a Volvo was officially telling the world you had given up your sex life - but the XC90 looks good and offer the best value 7 seater on the market by far.
Time will tell how this car does - but the wife likes it very much and do too.
Love it MikeHas life come to a boring end reading this thread?
