Sun Roof - Yay or Nay?

What are your opinions on a sun roof, are they a requirement or not?

My previous car had one (Ghibli S) and every drive, unless it was raining, started with it being opened. I wasn't as picky as I should have been with the current car (RS4) and don't have one, however I'm not sure if it's just rose tinted memories of the difference it makes, from an aural perspective. It's a factor in looking for a replacement but don't want to be ruling out cars I shouldn't, I realise test driving would answer this but so far whenever I've tried a side by side something else has got in the way! Curious about your thoughts, particularly with the cars in your stables.

I regret not having a sunroof on my QP
It is one of my top priorities for my next car be it Maser or not.
I have a light tan interior so it is ok without a sunroof but I could not abide a dark interior without a sunroof.

On my last three Jaguar’s I have never opened the blind let alone the sunroof - have one or not having one would not stop me buying the right car.

If there were two cars the same, but one with a sunroof I would choose the one with.

Always liked for similar reasons, if not a convertible, unless it’s raining, then sunroof open... blows away the cobwebs

I like sunroofs. Would I have one on a sportscar? Not a chance!
Still have some schoolboy miscomprehension that cutting a hole in the roof loses some of the rigidity of the shell and affects handling, silly.
Also I don’t like the break in the roof spoiling the beautiful lines of the car, unthinkable on the Stradale.......

Both her car and my daily have sunroofs and suspect next week should see them open by the look of the forecast!!

For me more stress than they are worth. Never have them open because of buffeting and always panic about drains getting blocked and filling the inside with water. It's a no from me, I have 4 windows!

Loved the roof on my 540i and the one one the Legacy was even better went halfway into the back too.

Had a panoramic on an X5. Kids loved it. I was paranoid about the 3.5k to replace when the frame twisted! And it would.
