How did they justify dropping nearly a grand? Surely some misunderstanding with the first quote rather than just sharpened pricing at that amount.

Probably by dropping their hourly rate from £200 to £100 (plus VAT) which is exactly what mine did when they were trying to get competitive with the price for a clutch replacement.

My local MD quoted £2.6k. I argued. They dropped 10%. It's now booked in with Christian Lewis in Northampton. £800, and the place has a great reputation. I'm more than happy with an indie stamp because I'm expecting a far better service than the last time the MD had it. They didn't even know which model it was...

I'll be sure to share. Haven't used them before but Voicey recommended them which is more than good enough for me!
